Suunto Vertical: Bug Collection
-
I think I found another possible bug yesterday.
During my run with custom mode I realized that the option to turn off wrist hr during activity does not work.
I tried twice. -
@fluca
that’s known -
I recently added an unsecured wifi network to my vertical (so now there are two networks set up, one secure (my home network), and the other the new unsecure one). I hooked it up to the charger, thinking it would download maps. However the watch would beep, then display a message about the map download being paused, and then to connect to a charger and wlan network). It would then start downloading, beep, and then the whole process would start over. It was similar behavior to the charger connection not being secure). So I tried cleaning the connections, with no change. I tried restarting, no change. I then removed the unsecure network, and everything was normal. But I can’t download maps, when I thought I’d be able to. The network seems solid, since I’ve been using it with my phone and tablet.

@DrSilverthorn there may be characters in SSID that prevent adding a viable connection. I cannot remember what some of them were.
-
@DrSilverthorn the work around for unsecured WIFi is to use your phone as a Hotspot and connect your phone to the unsecured WiFi.

I did exactly this in a hotel recently and got map updates.
-
@Brad_Olwin No usual characters in the SSID.
-
@Todd-Danielczyk Thanks, will give this a try at next charge.

Hello everyone,
I must be cursed! I received my second vertical yesterday at the end of the day. As soon as I started it, I got a message “the device recovered from an error”. It’s off to a good start! The first I got an error code 2.25.63…This does not give me confidence for the future.
I still performed a soft reset then the latest update. The watch does not seem to be malfunctioning at the moment (apart the OHR values -> between 95 and 120 at rest, the counting of steps and the TSS, TCL data delayed with the application.

And it continues !!!
I don’t understand how a brand like Suunto can leave a watch on the market with so many bugs! As much as the construction of the product is impeccable, the software contains multiple bugs and malfunctions! In 2 days, I suffered 2 crashes while running. The step counter tells me more than 10,000 steps in a day where I spend 6 hours sitting at the office. Example of this afternoon where the watch counts 3467 while I vacuum. (with a cardio at 125 please) At this value, I am at 5:00 per km in running.
This software is really a big piece of shit! My wife’s Forerunner 255 does much better!
The chat does not respond. No support! Before it’s too late I think my Suunto adventure ends here! I will take advantage of the 14 days to return this watch and get a refund. -
@Fizzgig Sorry to hear that…unfortunatly as many times repeated, many of us don’t experiment what you are…
It’s a shame you suffer of so much issues… -

Bon courage ! -
Poor suunto!!
Even when synchronizing, the watch and the application do not give the same values -. In addition to being completely false, the data does not match the application. Sunnto development is too strong!!!
Sorry but I’m getting my 800 euros back which I’m going to give to the American giant! I’m willing to favor European manufacturing, carbon compensation, but then I have to spend 800 euros for crappy software, no, sorry !!!
The Strongest !! 386 steps just while going to the toilet -
@Fizzgig No need to feel sorry! You are happy with Garmin, we are happy with Suunto, no hard feelings! Enjoy your sports!
-
@fluca the same happens to me and another users. I’ll try a reset

It seems that the “lap duration” field behaves like a “duration” field. Here’s a video of what I mean: https://photos.app.goo.gl/sNqDuiZWxh6523Ty7 and here’s a screenshot of the settings for that page (in that sport mode): https://photos.app.goo.gl/h1JRQLbhb6tFEJjA6.
I’m assuming this is easily fixable (or am I overlooking something obvious?). Is this a place to report this? Couldn’t fine anywhere else to report bugs.
Thanks
-
@Jakub-Sliacan I am reporting it to Suunto, thanks

tried on my Vertical, in one of my trailruuning custom mode, i added a lap duration field : it is working as expected.
Maybe you could try to delete your sport mode and recreate it (possibly it is corrupted).
-
@Mff73 @Jakub-Sliacan before deleting the sport mode, send logs via the app so that developers can see what went wrong.
-
@isazi
i have no issue on my side ;), i will save time to dev and not send them my logs. -
@Jakub-Sliacan do you have autolaps enabled? If so, that field shows auto-laps and not manual ones.
