Suunto Vertical: Bug Collection

I think it was mentioned before, but couldn’t find it anymore:
Incoming messages are not always notified with vibration and highlighted on the screen on the SV.
If I check afterwards, they are shown in the message widget, but as said not highlighted on the main screen and notified with vibration. At the moment I would guess, it’s about 50% of the notifications which are not highlighted

This morning I did a 3h45 trail ride using the map plus navigation.
When I started I was at 100% battery and by the end I was down to 86%.
I should point out that the GPS is in ‘best’ mode and that I was often in direct sunlight.

@dombo no problem. The calibration points for the battery management are the shut-down voltage at the low end and the full-charge voltage at the high end. Whatever mAh goes into or out of the battery if added up - continuously or interrupted makes no difference.

@Frederick-Rochette how many S+ apps? Or none at all?
-
@isazi only one : weather

Stranamente non riesco più a trovare nel menu di SV la funzione feedback dalle impostazioni
-
@Frederick-Rochette that’s too much indeed. Let’s wait a couple of weeks for the hotfix and then we’ll see if logs are necessary.
-
Weather app destroys the battery , known
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Also other known issues with S+ apps?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos it was discussed on the forum already… but… we all bought the product for a full price (Vertical), which has lot of bugs. we are testing, continue reporting, loosing our data,… I would expect from Suunto at least list of acknowledged bugs, advises for workarounds and more open communication.
because waiting undefined couple of weeks for hotfix firmware update is not pleasant at all.

Hi,
2 days ago i hike for 9 hours 17 mins. i wear SV (stainless steel) and S9P at the same time to track my hike.
SV i use performance mode and i only turn on Weather S+ app. battery from 85% drop to 45%
S9P i use performance mode without turn on any S+ apps. battery from 95% drop to 55%SV i did click more button for navigation but didn’t expect the amount of percentage dropped is same with S9P
as i read from forum here turn on 2 S+ apps will drain more battery. so is it turn on any 1 S+ app will also drain more battery?
-
@babychai some apps drain too much battery, this will be fixed.
-
@dombo I guess like with everything else, if you are not satisfied at all ask for a reimbursement. I bought mine watch like everyone else, zero crashes and no bugs. So, it’s not as buggy as reading the forum makes it sound.
-
@isazi cool, thanks.

Same as @isazi, not a single “real” bug (I Mean, that would crash the watch or make it useless). Just the few issues that are discussed (extra battery consumption when using apps, maps not shown sometimes - fixed with stopping the watch thru settings/general/stop the watch…and I think that’s all). And I can tell I’ve tested it and pushed it quite far. World needs more indulgence
Concerning battery…I don’t know when I’ll be able to get it to 0%…just went for an hour trail running, starting with 5% battery left. Almost under trees all along, maps activated and displayed half an hour, and gps to best…and still 4% when finishing…

@isazi so my watch is not OK and I should ask to replace it? “I had no issues” is not proof that product has no issues, while “multiple people had some issues” proof product has issues. usually testers and developers have no issues on their own testings or am I wrong?
I had a lot of crashes (both in sport mode and watch face mode), maps didn’t work when I needed them and battery is totally random between 1 and 5% in an hour. doing different sports, different sport modes, different S+ apps. reaching zero battery was also almost impossible for me, because I had to charge it to be sure to last 10+ hours on bike. It is true I can use it, gps track is great and big kudos to Suunto devs for saving activity on crash (even not all data are included).
as I can see, I’m not alone here with the issues. so or some part of production is faulty or there are bugs. and bugs were indirectly confirmed also by you.
so it is just raising frustration and I promise I will silently wait for the hotfix.

In fact he said to ask for a refund not for a replacement
-
@dombo I understand your frustrations, but you can see the bias here: people with issues post, it looks like everyone has issues. But we don’t really know the real percentage of people with issues compared to the total user base.
Nothing is bug free, certainly not any sports watch, and Suunto even acknowdged that some bugs are present and there is need for a hotfix release in June. At the same time, the watch is very usable for many. -
@isazi Also today 1/ it was impossible to use the S+ app “Manual Interval - Hill Reps”
I had a black screen
2/ When I use “CLIMB” the field with the number of hill was empty
-
@Frederick-Rochette did you use them together? When a “ghost” S+ is present (such as when you see a white/black screen with nothing on it) the behaviour of other S+ apps may be affected.
