Suunto Vertical is here

@renton82
if you toggle off standby and select off in raise to wake, there shouldn’t be any light anymore, no? -
@renton82 Also make sure backlight setting is off if you scroll down from the watch face
-
@freeheeler I think there is no way to switch off the light that comes on when pushing the buttons on the watch…

It’s exactly what i mean.

@Likarnik yes I’m on iOS => just ckecked again. Name watch is not displayed. Not a big deal a guess it will be correct in a next update of SA.
But I will try again this afternoon and see if it is linked to the fact that I was on flight mode when I synchronised yesterday. -
@Likarnik @surfboomerang the backlight settings have been heavily modified, new UI watches will have a different behavior than old UI watches.

I find that it works very well !!
-
@Tieutieu my configuration (tested for few months now) is:
- Brightness: low
- Standby: off
- Raise to wake: low
Battery consumption is minimal, and it is bright enough when needed.
-
@Tieutieu no it’s not there. I have noticed and asked the same yesterday. (I’m on iOS too) I hope it’ll be added in the next update. Not a big deal but nice to have.

Exactly same configuration as you, exactly same conclusions !

Very nice! Still dreaming of “athlete versions” of S9PP and SV: flat bottom, no internal OHR, little lighter, no “wellness tracking”

Great to see the photos of everyone’s new Vertical.
It’s my birthday coming up and my (very lovely) wife knows there’s no present I’d love more.
I’m working at home today and have just accepted delivery of a package from Suunto for her
Only problem is my birthday isn’t for 10 weeks -

Are you search for ambit3 or Spartan ultra?
-
@elliott negotiate for a prebirthday gift.
-
@zhang965 No, athlete watch with new HW, but without things most athletes won’t use (for HR only external strap). HW is now way better than Spartan, Ambit…

I give a rapid try of Vertical OHR yesterday : it is still not working good for me (but it was not neither with S9P not S9PP). I must not be compatible (at least on the wrist )
In this regard, i would surely consider any Suunto Vertical without OHR version : lighter, cheaper (?).
All watches have it now, i don’t expect this kind of light version rising one day.
-
@Mff73 Probably unfortunately not… Think every athlete would use a watch without OHR. But it is not mainstream of course. I think even if OHR is pretty good, no athlete would use it. For precise results independent of cold weather, movement, … a belt is always first choice… Such a watch would be more a pro tool, it is in the direction Suunto is going… but probably not high volume without OHR
-
@suuntastic well I am not an “athlete”, but run quite a lot and for me the OHR on Suunto works like a charm.
I can get a spike at the beginning, especially in cold weather, but other then that it is consistent and does not vary much from the belt (with the belt (suunto), I have problems in hot weather, when my t-shirt is full of sweat and sticks to the belt, then I get wrong readings)

Got mine too
I decided to get titanium version. I was afraid that it will be hard to back from s9p to heavier watch, but it is not.
The screen is so sharp and better. Love it ! Good job SUUNTO!Only what I observed that other people ,that slow WiFi.
It’s only 72Mbit at 2.4 Ghz.
So download the speed is about 2.5 - 3 Mbit/s . After 30min its only downloaded 550MB
