Suunto Vertical is here
-
Does anyone know how much sun you need for one hour gps extra?
I think i will keep and use my 9PP for short trainings.
For ultras with navigation i’ll use the vertical.
So the vertical will not see the sun everyday. Is it smart to buy the 200€ more expensive titan solar in my case? Or better go for the steel version?
Thanks for advice!

@Tieutieu Could not agree more. I went from Polar 720i to Ambit2 and then Suunto had me hooked.
I looked in the direction of Garmin a couple of times, but don’t like the way they keep throwing out different models and 1001 useless functionalities on a monthly basis.

@Ultrawalker Solar is supposed to add about 40% battery life at 50k lux. So that would mean that 3h in the sun should give you about 1h extra battery life.
-
Solar curiosity - did you know that the solar panel in Vertical responds to light from an bulb?
-
Who will be the first to receive its Suunto parcel today ?
-
Not me. Mine is delayed despite preordering for today’s delivery.
-
@aroo7 Just got mine!!!
-
I just tried maps outside for a minute. Very responsive when changing directions! And solar is working even with almost no sun penetrating cloudy sky.
-
@Likarnik did you get new firmware today?
-
@dulko79 not yet. 2.25.48 was installed yesterday
-
@Ketoohs is there a log available about update?
-
@Tieutieu wait a little till afternoon. The package is coming.
-
@Ketoohs same here, installed couple of hours ago
-
2.25.48 is the proper firmware for everyone.
Probably an updated one will come after a few weeks from now.
-
@Likarnik 2.25.48 I believe

Can anyone test the thermometer readings? I saw a few testers saying temperature readings were off, when off the wrist.
-
I got my email yesterday, waiting for DHL delivery today (watch is already in Amsterdam).
-
Just received it.
Updating right now to latest firmware. -
@LitchiMonster don’t know where this is coming from, but working well for me
