@taziden I am in your camp, I will use my 9PP for races and hopefully a smaller version of something with maps will come in the future, which seems reasonable. I like the Vertical a lot but the 9PP is my favorite.

Thanks dammit wish I had of known that

A guy from New Zealand commented and looked to get a discount? How did you get that? I paid full price for my stainless model here in Australia $1000
I’m from NZ but not sure if it’s me you’re referring to? I pre-ordered mine yesterday with a 10% discount which was the best I could find online. Came to NZ$1,214 after the discount
-
Yeh mate it was you well done I had no idea you could get discount codes like that on a new product
-
The 10% Off code on the following website is working: https://suunto.knoji.com/promo-codes/

@Likarnik and what about e-cheerleading
-
Impatient to get the new watch 🤩
-
@SuperFlo75 Agree. Looking forward to the ‘Your item has been shipped’ notification!

@mikekoski490
me, too! …for me it will be a challenge being at home when the delivery person rings the bell
… working on my FOMO issues -
@Brad_Olwin how different are the tastes the 9PP is much too small for me and the design is nice and elegant but I personally prefer an outdoor design. If I want an elegant watch then I take one of my old mechanical watches

I am not a large person, 69kg and 173cm. My wrists are not large. For sleeping, day use and long runs >12h I always found the Ambit and S9baro to be heavy and large. I do not care about elegance. The 9PP is the perfect size for me and has enough battery to get through all but the longest races in 1s mode. ( I am contemplating a 320k race next year so even the Vertical may not be sufficient in Performance mode). The 9PP is simply comfortable and light, design for me does not matter.
-
@Brad_Olwin sure I’m taller 187 in 78kg and the weight didn’t really bother me with the Vertix 2 either.

wow!!!
some people choose to go by car! -
Just cross posting this as might be of interest here as well, and wanted to give a shout out to this channel. I enjoyed it more than DCR or Desfit to be quite honest.

In another thread, which hotly discussed the issues of S9B width, I posted a picture of S9B Ti inside caliper. I think this thread is ready for some pictures of scales and door frame notches
You go first

@NickK haha I don’t need a big watch for that, I can do that with the S9PP

Did that by bike and I kinda promise myself I would not repeat it! Kudos!

Question about maps : I imagine they will be generated from OSM data, even if not vector or routable. But, how often will they be updated and benefit from any OSM new data, paths, etc…?
Any info on this? -

I know we are all excited with the prospect of Suunto and the future products from a company we love but I do not think it’s fair to ask the guys affiliated with Suunto about future plans. I am sure they are ‘dying’ to tell people about everything but that will not bring any good right? Imagine they said yes there is amoled vertical coming in near future… this is example of shooting yourself in the leg. The sales would sink, everybody would postpone buying (well maybe not everyone since I don’t like oled at all! Shining everywhere you go especially in darker environments, eating battery much faster in the sun than mips… but again that may just be me).
totally agree
