Suunto Vertical is here

@Likarnik Yes sure, I agree it can be improved but I tried to understand if someone really uses (or even supports) 2 same type sensors simultaneously.
-
@isazi Will we get a score or will we get the details of the HRV test or both?
-
@Hristijan-Petreski I think this is not the question, I’m not sure how to use two HR belts simultaneously? Which one has priority and so on. This is a question of having more than one sensor and no need to pair it every time (btw, when you pair speed/cadence sensor you are also asked for wheel circumference, it can be quite annoying).
-
@Likarnik Yup got it. Thnx.
-
@Frederick-Rochette I guess in the next few weeks we’ll find out. According to the mock-ups from past surveys, there was just a number I think. Although who knows what Suunto’s up to these days haha

As someone who has various bikes, you can have different power meters, and as hr strap I have one at work and one at home .
Since it has been so long that Suunto didn’t change this, what I understand is they don’t want to target to this type of public/user. -
@Hristijan-Petreski why would you connect 2 hr straps at the same time? The logic is that if you have more than 1 he strap, you don’t always have to keep unpairing-repairing ones you want to use.

Well, there is a sport called horseback riding.
One HR belt for rider, one HR belt for horse…
-
@altcmd well I ride a Tandem bicycle with my girlfriend, I’ve thought it would be good to keep an eye on her HR while we’re riding (as well as mine) to make sure she’s also doing her part so two belts at once would make sense!

@jakubdr I have done most of R2R2R in the Grand Canyon with the Vertical and a couple of races as well as long SkiMo days. I live in Colorado where there is a lot of sun. The battery life for me often exceeds the life Suunto claims. With maps on a significant amount of time I get at least the claimed battery life.
As you noted with Garmin, the battery life is severely affected by maps. I did not know this and had an Epix2 for 8 or 9 months before I sold it. To get their claimed battery life you could not use maps. You will be pleased with the battery, I have a hard time believing the battery estimates I am getting. -

If you ride with you kid and your wife, then you will need 3 hr in the same time.
But why you don’t connect your wife’s HR belt with your phone?

@zhang965 I think the horse should get it‘s own watch! Perhaps there are also wristbands for xxl wrists…

Polar has horse hr belt, so it supposed to be the rider reads horse’s HR.

I’ve just seen this : https://www.reddit.com/r/Suunto/comments/13fk40x/cha_cha_cha_best_of_luck_to_käärijä_in_his/
If that’s a feature, I’m buying the Vertical ASAP.
-
@taziden someone is showing experimental apps capabilities I guess

I’m a bit worried about the black steel vertical :
I have the S9 peak all black and it has a lot of scratch where the plack paint went out on the bezel .
Could it be the same with the steel Vertical? Could it be better with the titanium vertical ?
Thanks a lot for all this info ! -
@Kramble for sure titanium version will be a bit less sensible to scratches…but anyway I would conclude this way : If your suunto doesn’t have sratches, push harder and bring it further. It is an adventure device !

I’m reading some comments on Des review and I’m like … What ?!
just a sample
“I just don't find it to be a good value in comparison to the Garmin Fenix 7 Solar Sapphire, at least in GBP. The Suunto is more expensive without all the features of the Garmin, which is also a tried and tested product”
