Suunto Vertical is here

And the user guide from DCR is here:

@isazi A temporary solution to simplify the use of different sensors, before (if) multiple sensor support comes, would be to add the possibility to pair a new sensor right in the menu at the start of an activity (e.g. like the option to calibrate power meter).
-
Possibly a stupid question or one that’s already been answered, but will it be possible to keep my S9B paired in the Suunto app along with the Vertical or is it just one or the other?
-
@MiniForklift You can pair and switch between multiple devices but only one is connected and synced at a time.
-
@NickK Thanks, that’s great to know

Wow so many people going for titanium solar!!! I ordered stainless all black can’t wait been a long time ambit 3 peak user. Few things of concern I have noticed in review
1.optical hr accuracy seems poor from all reviewers
2. V02max estimate for dc rainmaker well below all other watches. Do we know if suunto is still using old algorithms for V02max ie not taking into account trail running and elevation changes like Garmin is with their trail running V02max? For those of us who do zero road running and all trail and vertical kilometre type stuff I’m guessing it’s still thinking we are moving very slowly with high hr hence low v02 max like rainmaker has shown as he told me he has been doing a lot of trail running lately ? -

Welcome to Suunto community

@gone-troppo I don’t think early testers have the final release firmware? Either way things will improve with new fw releases.
-
@mikekoski490 in Australia the Vertical would likely be at full capacity for its entire lifespan
-
@Jeffrey-Tillack I’ve lived in Sydney for a year and Brisbane for a year. You are definitely right there!
-
@gone-troppo
congrats on your decision- if you read in this forum some people are not happy with Suuntos OHR, but a lot of people are, including me. the really only poor device IMO was S9B.
- VO2max, as you know, is an estimation and watch makers have different algos. I’m pretty sure it does take elevation into account, same as previous models do. the value would be differing much more (if I compare to a cooper test)
-
Ok thanks mate good to hear. Was just a little concerning that dc rainmaker was showing 50.7 when his other devices were near 60. Anyway will be looking for more feedback on this as more people review and compare this stuff.
Thanks
-
@gone-troppo Suunto probably has not changed the algorithms for VO2max for the Vertical (by the talks maybe that will be the part of the new in-house algorithms coming at the end of the year) and as the Suunto older watches are consistent at what they are showing, Vertical should be the same.

Another question Now with the 32gb of memory is there restriction in how many routes can the vertical hold?
-
Hehe ! When you wakeup and see that all color of Straps are available on Suunto’s website
-
@Tieutieu Oh man there goes another 100 eu
-
@Tieutieu
thank you, I expected it on shipping date, but will order additional straps now -
@Hristijan-Petreski
good question, I don’t know. but despite that, I keep my route library in the watch at a minimum, as it is easier to find the ones I need when I toggle them on in SA if required. sort and search helps and it’s very convenient -
@freeheeler I agree I tend to keep my library small as well. There are a few occasions I needed just a bit more but I can live with what’s available now
-
@Hristijan-Petreski
routes stored in SA are also available to sync to the watch without network afair
