Suunto Vertical is here

@surfboomerang
agree, I’ve used that several times, too.@DMytro
do you mean like road surface as in SA maps?
it’s similar to topographic maps and just shows trails, no surface indication…
edit: topo maps show trail width as I understand, no difficulty
-
@freeheeler I mean like the screenshot you’ve attached, dashed line is some difficulty and dotted line is another difficulty.
-
@DMytro
I will check once I get the chance and let you know -
Btw, there were also some mentions of live tracking/satellite communication in some past surveys. Guess this didn’t make it to this watch.

The Vertical is more comfortable to wear than the 9 Baro during sleep, and at first, it was a little less comfortable compared with the 9PP, but I got used to the Vertical pretty quickly. And, more importantly, the sleep measurements are lots better for me than the 9PP was … theyre very close to what I had from the Baro, which always seemed superbly accurate.
Good to here that, as I am very pleased of sleeping tracking of my S9b !
I’d like to also confirm something concerning the power sensor : I saw on a comment somewhere that « for training either you choose power or HR ».
My interpretation of that comment was that « for better interpretation of training, you have to focus on HR or power data’s »For me to be clear : I will be able to use both HR sensor and wrist power at the same time with the vertical ? All my fit level are based on HR data’s right now with my S9b, I’d like to keep it the same with the vertical, and using the power data as a complementary indicator.
Thanks for your thoughts !

wasn’t this comment meant as a guideline what you should focus on? because some people think, pace, distance or duration is key.
you can customize sport modes, arrange the fields as you want and see both data -
@freeheeler ok thanks that’s what I had understood, but wanted to confirm
-
@Tieutieu actually there is no wrist power sensor.
Running power is always an algorithm that takes available sensor data (speed, weight, HR, incline, etc) to calculate a power value to display. -
@Egika ok thanks for explanations, I thought there was some hardware dedicated to power

@renton82 They are located 15/20 km from where I live. I have bought there probably more than twenty times (physically twice and the rest online) and it is one of my favourite online shops. I only have had issues once and because one of the products has rupture of stock, and they were cancelling the product but it was still available in the web. Anyway, I have to say that their support team is quite slow.
You need to know some tricks in their web, if they say that you will receive the product the next day it means that they have it in stock if not that means that comes from the brand or distributor warehouse. I love from their web that if you place an order and later you want to add something you can add it to the previous order and everything will be shipped together.

@cosme-costa Thank you!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
One question, with the battery it has, has it not been planted to have an AMOLED screen or is that prepared for a future version? -
@Jose-Luis I think you are confusing a little bit here. The battery is not like something we had to change to achieve greatness. For all I know you cannot increase battery life just but adding in more battery like COROS did sometimes (thats why the recalls etc but that is a long story)
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos @isazi do past limitations on number of HR sensors apply to Vertical too?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos, @isazi, I have the same question, is it (or will it be) possible to add more than one sensor of the same type - multiple power meters being the most obvious one
-
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
It is clear that autonomy is not only increased by making the battery bigger.But he has not answered me , will there be an AMOLED version?
-
@Jose-Luis there is no AMOLED Vertical being released now, all available watches have been presented last Tuesday.

I know, but I wonder if there will be a future version

there will be nobody here answering this, even if we knew. Everyone is under NDA
