Really excited for this one and probably will order one soon. Does it have sport modes for e-biking? It’s missing from my Suunto 9 baro and I would like to keep track of my rides and separate them from normal bike rides.
no by default. You can user motor sports or use the tag function in SA to separate those rides.
-
@Egika thanks for the tip. But is it planned to ad ebike?
-
@Egika Thank you for the tip. E-bikes are getting more and more popular. I think there is like 95 different sport modes in the Verticel so it’s weird that e-bikes are still not included.
-
Indeed, we should probably ask to have e-bike added as a sport profile.
Edit: I see this has been already requested at Suunto.
-
For ones you have tried and tested both titanium and standard editions, what are your opinions on the weight differential?
-
@Vylli yeah, I think e-bike is more useful than cheerleading for Suunto users
-
@Likarnik can couch surfing and doom scrolling also be added? I see a lot of us are doing it these days
-
@isazi And bouldering haha
-
@DMytro I use indoor climbing for that

Bouldering is not Climbing!
As workaround okay but mot the best solution for such a popular sport.

well, technically speaking you’re climbing , so it is
-
Chess is also a sport
-
@Mitch9
snowboard touring, splitboard touring and skitouring isn’t the same thing either… but I track them all as skitouring, maybe I’m too layback with this
it’s human power up and pow shredding fun down… hence: samesame 🥳 -
Let’s stop here to discuss about different sport modes. Climbing indoor for bouldering is okay and I use tags for differentiation.
-
On the map, is it possible to have the names of the streets or other localisations like on the S7 ?
-
Do You prefer between titanium versions ?
I had s9b steel (81g) ,now I have s9p steel (62g) … and I wonder if I change (rollback ) to heavy watch s vertical steel (86g) this fact will be acceptable.
In the paper s vertical titanium (74g) looks as sensible choice. …but the price … -
Dc rainmaker mentions that suunto will depart from Firstbeat’s algorithms by the end of the year, replacing them with in-house ones. Curious. That’s probably the rumoured changes to sleep analysis.
I wonder if it’ll concern just the new watches or the legacy ones too. -
@freeheeler Thanks for the confirmation and review sifting!
Like @Mitch9, I’m now puzzling over the aesthetic/practical merits of the segmentally grooved bezel ring.
-
@Kramble
it doesn’t have lables. I would imagine lables to be disturbing and reduce easy readability.
everything you need outdoors is there. trails, rivers, cliffs, elevation lines -
@DMytro lots of development going on on multiple fronts, the new metrics will probably help with the Coach feature.
But Firstbeat licenses are already paid for released watches, so I do not know if the in-house metrics will replace everything or just take over for the future.
