Suunto Vertical is here
-
@Spree there’s also coach on the watch, no? With suggested workouts, etc
-
@DMytro no configurable widgets indeed, but some S+ features should land there. I do not have the S9B here with me so cannot check what new features are there.
-
@DMytro where did you see suunto coach with suggested workouts on the watch?
-
@dulko79 I read one post or review that said something about voice coaching while working out? Something connected while wearing Bluetooth headphones or something?
I’ve pre-ordered the Vertical Ti and am looking forward to the updated features, battery life, and bigger screen. I hope newer features allow more customization of the text messaging fonts. On 9PP they are black font on white background, and hard to read.
Also looking forward to this list from a post on the 9PP forum:
A lot of the internals are new with Vertical:
New Display
New Battery
New Bluetooth chip
Dual band GPS (L1+L5)
New processor
New accelerometer + gyroscope sensor
New magnetometer sensor
Improved OHR sensor -
@mikekoski490 OK, I missed coaching in any kind of form on the watch. Maybe something on the way in software.
-
A comparison of two different Suunto Verticals on two different wrists!
And yes the GNSS is this good!
From the Bright Angel Trail in Grand Canyon.
-
Still no review from Desfit…strange!
-
@Ultrawalker he usually takes his time
-
Just ordered Titanium Solar Black! One question, any idea are the Suunto heat maps coming also to the watch?
-
@renton82 you order without the need to login. The log in is for Suunto pro users.
-
@Ultrawalker Maybe Desfit is letting the wave of today’s reviews die down a bit before bringing something more to the table? It’s easy for a writeup or video to get lost in the shuffle when 15 other people are talking about the same thing!
On a related note: Chase the Summit’s review was wildly positive, and he’s rarely kind to Suunto. (Though he mentioned more than once in today’s vid how much of a “Garmin guy” he is ).
-
@TrailEyes Indeed. And finally he noted more clearly that Suunto is EU company with eco (environmental awareness) mindset. The only small concern of mine are the OHR issues all of them had. Would’ve expected to be better given that some of the competitor watches I’ve tried nailed the OHR (at least during running). Hope it can be tailored (fixed) with some sw update and that during rest is accurate. I do use strap always but for some casual hikes / cycling I may forget it

@renton82
I rushed thru the order process way too fast right at launch between meetings and didn’t even notice that I wasn’t logged in… now checking and noticed that I can’t login either. only pro-club sign up… and I’m not pro, I can’t even pretend -
@freeheeler Touch screen lock (ticked without legend during exercise) is this it ?
-
So nobody bought it in a physical store?
I wonder if they even sell it before next week…
-
Still no resume later option with the Vertical or 9PP firmware update?
-
@herlas
nope
but we’ve learned with S9P/P that button design helps a lot and does make a lock in watch mode basically unnecessary… only situation: you come back from running, stop and shower immediately… but I see workarounds for that case -
@Ketoohs Official store release is May 16. So you won’t be able to pick it up in person before then.
-
@freeheeler i was sure once i was able to log in inside Suunto shop web site…
-
I can’t decide if preorder from Suunto now or wait maybe some shop that could sell it before 16…
