Suunto Apps

Not sure if this is just me or all S9 Gen 1 owners. If I select a running activity (basic) on the watch and then go to options and select Loop from the Sports apps, the app isn’t applied. I have to go back into the Sports apps and select it a second time before it’s activated in the run. Anyone else having similar issues?
PS - I’m on the latest firmware.

@SimonHumm happened the same to me last weekend. Soft restart solved it.

@zadow Thanks mate, I’ll give that a go

Hi guys, has anyone used the Duathlon app yet? How does it show up in SA - Three activities or one multisport?
And maybe you can mark a transit with the lap button? -

And maybe you can mark a transit with the lap button? It will be one activity. In the current state, Suunto Apps cannot switch the sport mode.
The duathlon app will just insert manual laps based on the sensor input (arm movement and/or speed). So it does exactly what you would do with manual laps.
Plus - and this is the important point - it will show different screens of information. -
Then I don’t see the point of this app. The point is to show cutoffs by sport plus transit time. Is it not easier to make a separate multi-sport mode duathlon or Swimran or just a customizable multi-sport mode?
So while wasting time pressing the lap button for a long time to switch between sport modes.
Thanks for the answer. -
@Stas-Varazhbit I am planning to test this app coming Saturday as my race simulation. For sure I know that it is gonna be just one activity - it is already said in the description of the app.
Well, I would also preffer if it also switch sports to have clear legs separation. Unfortunately, its not the case.
I am more into triathlon and the tri community is asking for customizable triathlon sportmode for years now. In the last survey, there were questions about triathlon and changing the legs. What I am afraid of is that it will end up in triathlon app, where again, no customization would be possible at all. Only “benefit” probably will be automatic switch swim - bike - run. I appreciate automatic switch in sprint or olypmic distances where you have to be really fast in transition. On middle and long distance, I don’t mind to spend few seconds pressing the lap button.
So, everything has its pros and cons and ideally, I would like to have the best from everything - customizable triathlon sport mode with automatic switch between legs with changing sports. That would be epic! …let me drream about it -
@zadow I had already resigned myself to the inability to adjust the triathlon mode, and then it turned out that there is not much to change
Automatic change of activity is good and saves time, but how it will work with the transit zones?
Therefore, for fast races, there is the old tried and tested A3S with one button switching. -
@zadow Tell us about the results of testing this app later.
-
@Stas-Varazhbit I’ll let you know how it records transitions after my test on Saturday, or after my real race by beggining of the May. It is B class race, so I don’t worry and probably will use the duathlon app to test it in real race conditions.

@zadow I think in the current state it will switch to cycling when the speed goes above 25Km/h.
And it will switch to running when the speed goes to <10km/h for 20s.Main reason for the app is to show different data during the race automatically. Like speed for cycling and pace for running.

I have almost the same issue with the app loop.
Usually It doesn’t start. And the few time it starts, crashes after the first pression of lap button.
I emailed to suunto assistance with no answer.
This sport app would be useful if only it goes…

@carlo-rocca very strange, I use that on a lot. Let’s wait a couple of weeks for the new update and after we can help with a bug report.

@isazi thanks. I solved reinstalling the suunto up and than uninstalling and reinstalling all the apps.
Now it works properly.Edit: after 3 or 4 times the problem reappared
