The “Smart Alarm” built into the “Sleep as Android” app, using my Suunto 7 watch as a sensor, is the primary reason I am committed to the Wear OS (or Garmin Connect IQ) smartwatch platform for now, and would probably not get a non-Wear-OS Suunto sportswatch. The “Smart Alarm” wakes you within a time window, with optimization using the activity level detected by the watch. I find that it really does reduce drowsiness. It seems like the kind of feature that could be pulled into a sportswatch feature set.
(BTW–I have been pretty happy with the Suunto 7 for 2+ years. But the short battery life is something that my activities may soon outgrow.)
