It would be great if we can use Suunto devices to broadcast HR. I own both a 9 peak and a Hammerhead Karoo 2… Normally I use the Hammerhead HR strap but there are occasions where I would prefer to use the 9 peak as HR for the Karoo…

Hope this can be an added feature for the foreseeable future! Thanks!

@arnie82 I may be wrong but I’ve heard that HR broadcast isn’t possible with current watches, hardware-wise.

A bit off topic: I see more Karoo users in the forum lately, did you buy the bike computer because of the new partnership? Or did you buy suunto watch because of this? Of course, if you don’t mind answering this.

@arnie82 @DMytro You can do with the Suunto 7 and the Heart for Bluetooth app.

Also this will enable having more than one device getting HR, like you can do in H10 chest band…

@dmytro Had the Karoo already and was “in need” of a new running watch. So by that case the route to a Suunto was made…

To be fair there are more rounded/complete options in the market but I do like the Suunto approach. Although the lack of HR broadcasting annoys a bit it is not the end of the world… I only use the watch for running/sports so not 24/7.

I can recommend the Verity Sense from Polar.
It can connect to 2 devices, is comfortable to wear and gives very precise values.

@arnie82 cool stuff, it seems suunto has found a nice way to broaden its userbase. I hope your wishes will be implemented one day - and there were already some comments that if the deal with hammerhead proves fruitful, there may be further development to ensure even better experience.

Thanks! Actually I have an HR strap already that works perfect. However there are cases when I would prefer to not wear the HR strap and use the wrist HR broadcast instead. (aware that this will be personal preference)

@arnie82 it’s interesting to hear your experience, and I’m sure Suunto and Hammerhead are interested to hear your feedback on this partnership.
