@runomatic said in Displaying solar complications on a watch face: I can’t also think of a watch face that can do that. What I learned from using Vertical Solar is that I was also curious at first about what solar power could do for battery life. However, I realised that it had very little effect. So my curiosity soon waned. Where I live it makes a substantial difference. I can go out on a run for 2h and have no change in battery charge so essentially while GPS is running the watch maintains its battery. I saw significant gains as well with multi-day fastpack trips.

@fritzbt2013 The Stryd pod is connected as both footpod and a power pod upon pairing, with auto-calibration option off and speed/distance coming to the watch from Stryd every time it is connected. This is the behavior I consistently observed on recent firmware post big Bluetooth change. You can pick a course which distance you know and confirm that. Or use Strava/Runalyze distance correction from GPS. Alternatively, you can run the same course twice, once with Stryd paired and another without. I did all that as well as compared it to other devices, including Suunto’s own pre-Bluetooth change. Distance definitely comes from Stryd, period. For people like myself, for whom Stryd distance isn’t quite right (mine comes about 2% short) this means I have to choose between training with power (that is, Stryd power that works indoors and has been the same across all devices for the past 8 years I’ve been using it) and getting correct pace and distance outdoors. Coupled with ghost Bluetooth devices you can’t delete, occasional beeping and battery drain, yeah… The picture isn’t pretty.

@fejker yes, just one sad thing is. When importing exercise to Suunto App it won’t show him burned calories in daily burned calories section. I have been debating about this with suunto support in chat for a while and nothing can be done. I have recently switched to Garmin which was adding kcal but not adding training into my tiredness. Best solution for the moment to me is to connect trainer to watch and zwift in parallel. Training from zwift remain in zwift and from Garmin goes to Strava for example. Also in thus case I’m not tight to zwift only. Using wahoo app too from time to time.

@vinc14 said in Outback Adventure watchface: Hallo After a long time, I made the leap from 2.37.48 to 2.48.16. I then changed the watch face to Outback Adventure. So far, the watch is working, but I have a few questions about the watch face. How can I remove the lock symbol and still have the vertical lookend? Not clear on this one Why can’t Suunto simply define this as an option? How can I replace the lower part with weather information with fitness information such as TSB, CTL, ATL? This is simply not an option The weather information is useless because it is usually wrong, and I don’t need information about the valley when I’m in a mountain hut. Overall you might simply want to use a different watch face, there are many available. Have a nice day, Vinc

@Armin-M it’s funny because it is just the way from the watch to the Phone not working. Information from the Phone to the watch worked well.

Meanwhile, I downgraded to firmware 2.44.52 (see here for how that works) but also had to reboot android for the problem to “go away”. We’ll see if it remains “fixed” in which case firmware 2.48.16 would be the reason.

@Highlands No issues with my V1 at the moment. Try again after 24 hrs. I’ve seen similar behavior with just one watchface. According to the app it was installed, but the watch never showed me. The day after, suddenly the installed watchface was shown in the app.

Nice to see that now, since everything is aligned for more than 4 weeks, the differences in CTL/ATL/TSB between TP and Suunto are descreasing. And also the TSB finally is more often less than 0 en sometimes less then -10, meaning i am productive… :-)… I am getting more used to this TP appraoch with TSS. I train frequently which is also important. I posted this question few months ago. For me it was a learning curve. I am happy with my Suunto. I like the interface of the Suunto app (more than the Garmin Connect app) and maybe in the future there will also be a webapp with routeplanner included (private project currently). This topic can be closed.

It seems that this problem has been resolved, at least with Race2. I don’t know if it was Suunto or Strava, but as of this season, the number of runs is showing correctly.

@Stefan-Kersting Came here seeing if there was a fix. I’m curious if downgrading to the factory firmware, then upgrading to the current firmware will fix it.

@Mff73 was tryin that all, but failed. I once said yes - I have one account. I never consciously assumed another. However, I must admit that I found an old phone where I have “lost” data and I see a different username there. How? I don’t know. So now, yes, I have one phone that shows me data from several years, and which does not want to sync from the cloud on a new phone. I don’t see them on the app. The new phone only drops “new” data plus some prehistoric data from 2019. I don’t see the point in it, but I’d love to somehow import the data I see on my old phone. When I paired my watch with the old app, it took data from the watch without any problem. But when I go back to my new phone with my watch, all I see is this new thing. Applications are updated. But there are actually two usernames, and worse, in the old app, I have a different email address that no longer exists. Maybe the change in username happened when the email was changed?

@sneike said in Suunto Vertical battery modes: @Brad_Olwin said in Suunto Vertical battery modes: @sneike said in Suunto Vertical battery modes: @Brad_Olwin said in Suunto Vertical battery modes: @sneike The only watch that lets you use maps in Custom mode is the Vertical. There are contradictory information online, are we 100% sure of this? The only one I can enable maps in a custom battery mode is the vertical. Thank you for clarifying that. Do you also confirm that if we start an activity with a custom battery mode and set the GPS accuracy to OK, we can expect the battery life of the Ultra mode as long we don’t keep the map (or the ETA data fields) on the screen all the time? I think if you run maps at all it will impact battery life in Ultra mode. If you save the mode for a specific custom sport profile the battery estimate shown on the watch should be reasonable. I assume you need battery to last 280h?? I used my V1Solar for a fast pack trip in August that was 4d with sleep tracking, OHR, etc enabled and about 12h of GPS per day. My battery estimates in Performance mode ranged from 62h to 90h. I did not charge the watch and had 38% left by the end of the trip. I use Performance unless I need the extra battery and then would use Endurance. Unlikely for me I would need 280h of continuous tracking.
