Disappointing Sleep tracking after new update
-
@SirMcKey
and others,
is this new function explained somewhere ? Lazy Boy Stand Up reminder ?
-
@Mff73 Sorry, I didn´t find the english expression. The correct explanation means “stand up reminder”
You find it in “Settings, activity” and then scroll down the whole list. at the bottom of the list is the reminder, you can switch it on and off. -
@Mff73 it’s under Settings - Activity - Stand up reminder. The funny things I had it enabled and never received any notifications to stand up
-
@tomasbartko I woke up every two hours in the first night after the update. Suunto knows, how to tell a good joke
-
@tomasbartko I also never received any stand up reminder. Not on the Race and not on the Vertical. Anyone here who has received such a reminder yet?
-
Once have had that on a SR. I was standing and working with a laptop, and after two hours SR told me to stand up!
-
I still get results like this once or twice a week the rest of the time it nails it almost perfectly which is bizzare.
-
@Patrick-Löffler-0 I also had this enabled - never received a reminder… And sleep tracking doesn’t work for me (not on any other watch either).
-
The three nights right after the sw update were pretty bad but I did hard reset yesterday and this night was almost spot on. I’ve had my “get-up” reminder off the whole time.
-
Since update, sleep tracking has been really more accurate for me !
-
For me sleep tracking worked before and after the update. With the new firmware the sleep quality is more optimistic.
But I miss the nap detection! SV didn’t receive that feature???
-
@Mitch9 the missing features (sleep stages, nap detection) are licensed sw from a 3rd party. They might be introduced to Vertical later on, but no promises yet. This was discussed in another thread.
-
@BrunoH I didn’t noticed it since this morning. where I can find that thread?
-
@renton82 I think it was this one:
-
After turning off the movement reminder, sleep tracking worked for me for the first time last night. And it was spot on. Will have to see what the future holds.
Update: That was the one and only night that it worked. Since then, many nights have no sleep recorded at all. I am a restless sleeper, and tend to wake every 90 minutes or so - but sometimes not.
-
@RightNow yes i did but I feel like I’m changing physiology to suit technology, shouldn’t technology serve physiology?
-
@tomasbartko me neither… wonder why
-
@Patrick-Löffler-0 I haven’t had the pleasure of getting reminded to stand up… looking forward for a surprise future reminder
-
@gone-troppo super bizarre! last night I got a better sleep reading than the previous ones but still over an hour less than the actual sleep duration.
I’m going to keep on tracking… hoping for reliable results -
-
@Egika
Today i received Stand up reminder after i sit for 2 hours. Is it remind every 2 hours if less than 40 steps for the next 2 hours? -
@Egika Thanks for the pictures of the move alert. 40 steps in 2 hours is really not a lot. That’s probably the personal reason for me why I never get it.

I’m going to keep on tracking… hoping for reliable resultsThis happens to me as well. Sometimes sleep is perfect, it was last night and sometimes the watch states I am awake for 2h and I was not. It may be that I move around more during my sleep than most. I think the tracking will be improved. However, I have seen that the new firmware is far better than just a couple test versions prior. Sleep tracking is likely very difficult and I listen more to how I feel than what my watch tells me.

@peegee
Dissapointed again with 3 1/2h less sleep, after raising rest heart rate by 15 bpm… didn’t do any good at all -
if you want an evaluation of how good sleep tracking works I think you have to compare the watch tracking when sleeping in a sleeping lab. Even if we are sleeping we are moving a lot. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Some times we register at we have moved a lot, sometimes not. But the watch does so it would be interesting to compare the tracking of the watch with a camera recording of the sleep
