Unable to disable wrist HR on sport mode
-
I just checked every sport mode I use, customed or not.
Only Hike seems to work.
For every other else, whatever ohr is pinned or not, unpinned or not, OHR is always ON.
-
At least, if a BT sensor is connected and selected, it still is prioritised (just tested in on mode)
-
@Tieutieu Hey Here is the solving: after the new Software update you have to reconnect your Heart Rate Belt first, than you start Training, turn wrist HR off and start your Training. You see now the OHR ist off save battery
-
No. Not on my Vertical.
Edit: Okay, the OHR stops working at the moment I start the activity.
May be that the problem is no problem, because the 24/7 activated OHR is flickering until the activity starts recording without OHR? And not at the moment the switch is set to OFF?
I deactivated the 24/7 OHR and now in every activity I can see that OHR is starting flickering when the switch is set to ON and stops flickering when OHR is set to OFF.
With 24/7 OHR enabled the flickering stops at the moment the activity is started and not when the switch is set to OFF.

Not for me, WHR set to off, and after activity start, HR is displayed and leds are flickering.
-
@GiPFELKiND thanks ; I’ve tried but it doesn’t solve.
-
@Mff73 do you have a belt paired, and on for the activity, but belt not there?
Then it seems to me that OHR is used as some kind of backup.
Try disabling the belt as well for the activity. -
@Egika If people connected a belt, this was always prefered over OHR. The issue I ran into is that I don’t want to use HR measurement at all for some sport modes. No OHR and no belt.
No belt connected and the Wrist HR option disabled should do this, but failed to work after the latest firmware update.
-
@surfboomerang I do understand your requirement.
To disable all HR, have you tried disabling both WHR and belt in the settings of the activity?
For me then all is off. -
@Egika I don’t have a belt paired.
When I first select the sport mode, the HR is measured. I scroll down to Wrist HR and the setting is off. Even if I enable and disable the setting again, HR is still measured.Edit:
To clarify a bit more. For windsurfing I wear the watch over my wetsuit. OHR is useless in this case so I want to disable it. Even if I would wear it under my wetsuit, it won’t be accurate because of the movement of the wrist and muscles during windsurfing. -
@Egika
Yes, I have one belt paired and not there.
But, like @surfboomerang, I want the switch OHR to be effective.
OHR for me is so bad during activities, that I want my sport mode not to use OHR. So that, if I forgot to switch on my VeritySense I will not see any HR during pre start and will question myself. -

I have two Vertical here. A Titanium Solar and a normal one. It is working on the Titanium Solar, it is not working on the normal one.
On the Titanium Solar the heart symbol on the display with the START button disappears with setting the switch “Wrist HR” to OFF and the leds stop flickering. On the normal one nothing happens when I set the switch to OFF and the symbol does not disappear.
In both Verticals no additional sensors are connected.
No one will believe that.

@pilleus right
OK, then it makes sense why for me it is still different.
Anyway, I think we all agree, that the WHR switch should just switch WHR.
I can confirm, that this is known to Suunto. -

I own a Titanium Solar, but unfortunately it’s not working for me.

Did you try it while 24/7 heart rate measuring was disabled? Since I did this one time the switch is working as expected with 24/7 enabled too, but only on the Titanium Solar.
-
@pilleus
I tried that also, and it doesn’t work with my SV non solar.
Only trick is the original one from @surfboomerang. -
@pilleus I don’t use the 24/7 HR monitoring so that’s disabled all the time

Maybe they are, or do you know something more ?
