Anyone know what this line is under the crystal?
-
@General_Witt
to me it does not look like an official part from Suunto. could be trapped dirt, too.
can you identify the material? metal? rubber? anything else? -
@freeheeler It’s an oblique metal band that seems fixed inside the watch. It looks sturdy and it’s invisible from the outside, I’ve seen it looking at the watch upside down and without the strap while I was cleaning it.

@General_Witt
there’s no such thing in my watch and neither does it appear to be in @SuperFlo75 's Vertical.
I recommend getting in touch with support if you can rule out it is a part from outside the watch -
@freeheeler Same. Nothing like that in my Vertical either. Same as second photo below.
-
@freeheeler Here’s another look at it if you’re curious. You have to look at the watch without the strap and sideways to notice it.
-
@freeheeler The pressure sensor holes seem normal if you look at them without inclining the watch. Like this photo here.
-
@mikekoski490 Have you tried to incline it while looking at the pressure holes? I recorded a brief video of it.
-
@General_Witt Hi. Yes, tilted it with a flashlight shining in. I dont have the piece showing in mine. Contact Suunto Chat and attach the photo for them. I find Suunto Chat very responsive.

If anyone is interested, I contacted Suunto Customer Support out of curiosity this morning via chat, posted my original photo here to the chat, and the chat person said not sure but support will follow up with an email. Less than an hour later I got an email with the following, so Im happy.
Dear Michael,
We are contacting you from Suunto Customer Support.
The line on display’s left side is part of the Solar panel. The product is not broken, and it should not be sent to service for that reason.
-
@General_Witt
definitely not visible with my device.
please get in touch with support as suggested by @mikekoski490 -
This post is deleted! -
@General_Witt Did you Countach Suunto Support? What did they say?
-
@SuperFlo75 I was in the amazon return period, so I directly sent it back to amazon.

I was wondering what those two metal contacts are for? They don’t seem to be related to charging.

Service connector afair -
@Jonathan-C service pins for a wired data access
-
@Egika Weren’t they the contacts for the depth gauge?
-
@Lechamoix
someone who pretended to know for sure spread this rumour, but it was wrong -
@Lechamoix that’s what I had read too, but it was explained in this thread: https://forum.suunto.com/post/116774 (see previous messages in this thread by @isazi and @Egika )
