New Suunto watch coming
-
I’m kinda bummed that this watch is made in China, In my point of view, the “made in Finland” thing really set apart Suunto from the crowd (and notably from polar, another Finish company owned by a Chinese company that makes sport watch) and I love that my S9PP is “kinda locally made” (I’m French)
I hope that they will continue to have a good lineup made in Finland, its really hard nowadays to find tech made in Europe -

So I understand that we’ve bought an SV, which is SUUNTO’s top-of-the-range model, especially in terms of price, and that we’re not going to get all the features (precise sleep and nap tracking, threshold detection) of the Race, which is a much cheaper watch. Do you who don’t work for SUUNTO understand this and are happy with it? I really don’t! If I want a complete watch, I have to buy the RACE, right?
It’s what Suunto did for Suunto 5 vs suunto9, s9 was released without vo2max, but S5 has it.

@Frederick-Rochette If you weight eu salaries to china salaries I do not think SV is top of the line any more. Oh and about the lag… DesFit says they added more memory?! If this is true than the SV buyers were… well S9P buyers… (the one followed by the race the others by the peak pro). So teribble desicions there imho.

Nope. (And I have some kind of Deja Vu here (have to look the topic up later maybe).)
You WILL absolutely get all those additional training features (TSB, HRV, CTL in the Vertical and even in S9PP). Just give it maybe another month for ironing out those firmwares.
-
@EzioAuditore I bought the 9P and then a couple of months later the 9PP came out, then bought the Vertical and the same story happens with the Race…
-
@Ketoohs We human beings learn from our mistakes right? Fool me once, fool me twice…
-
@Ketoohs why to change Vertical? Amoled?
-
@Ketoohs But appart of the crown which is quite cool I still would get the SV given we get the same metrics as the Race, except if the ‘they added more memory is true’ and the SV lags as before even after the FW. Then I do not know if there is future for the SV next to the Race.

Yes it’s a leisheng watch
Dude, I know, we, in this Forum, know, you can’t seem to be able to not say it in one different thread every other day, there’s really no need, especially when I said
" notably from polar, another Finish company owned by a Chinese company that makes sport watch"That’s not the point, the point is that the Vertical (and before) where designed by Suunto in Finland, and made by Suunto factory in Finland, while the Suunto race, while designed in Finland, is not made by the Suunto factory in FInland, but in China
-
@nseslija 150 or 50€ cheaper then the Vertical, as noted in the post https://forum.suunto.com/post/128374 the Vertical will not have all of the features of the Race, and yes AMOLED is a + for me.

Not about this new race but about wings - sorry for digression => “answering call function”. That meens it has a mic ?
Yes, is actually has 2 mics built in.
Plus it has some other innovative features, like head movement control and built in LED lights.This is what the SA connection is for: to configure those features
Thanks ! I was looking to get this kind of headphones…I comes right on time and seems very nice !
-
@EzioAuditore SV = Bury …
A difference with the new health algo? An in-house version and a purchased version? -
@Tieutieu
oh you’re talking about Wings … I missed that -
@Ketoohs The SV will probably have all the features Race have now. Solar, battery life and Made in Finlad would make me choose the Vertical…

I want to believe that SV is going to get it.
Also garmin does that all the time, even with much cheapear watches (Venu 3 vs 965) and the implementation on older watches come later…or not…on some features of the venu 3 there isn’t really yet a word of which goes to which watches.
But I agree, it doesn’t make anyone happy.
Edit: from Ray’s video! Bravo suunto!

Please, dear sports watch gods, can we stop with the “Some people…” advertising tag line?
-
@Lechamoix Race has better specs, and cheaper than SV? Can’t imagine vertical selling better than Race… I understand stand many would still prefer MIP, but the future should be Amoled and with time, battery life on amoled could be better .

@stromdiddily no
but there will always be someone out there who does not like any marketing claim -
