Suunto Beta Release for Suunto 9 Peak Pro, Suunto 9 Peak, Suunto 9 Baro, Suunto 9 and Suunto 5 Peak
-
Do you want to take a sneak peek at the next Suunto firmware release?
Suunto 9 Peak Pro, Suunto 9 Peak, Suunto 9 Baro, Suunto 9 and Suunto 5 Peak will be getting a new firmware and now you have the chance to try it out with BETA release.Below you will find the relevant link for each watch firmware and instructions for how to install the BETA firmware. The BETA brings several improvements to the Suunto plus sports apps including possibility to run two Suunto plus sports apps at the same time in Suunto 9 Peak Pro. All of the listed products are also able to run the Strava live segments in the same way as the freshly released Suunto Vertical. The Suunto 9 Peak Pro gets new widget screens while the other watches get improvements in font colors and backlight to improve screen readability.
Suunto will not have a separate help desk to support this BETA firmware release and the Suunto help desk is not familiar with the BETA release so installing it is at own risk (support cannot help you with this). Suunto will monitor the stability and performance of the BETA release using analytics tools.
Please take the time to answer a short questionnaire by June 25th if you installed and used the BETA release. This form is the only way to report findings.
This BETA firmware release is only distributed in this post on forum.suunto.com

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Awesome move! Can’t like this post enough. I’m not much of a beta user, but still hands down for this step.
-
No vertical?
-
@zhang965 vertical is getting the release soon officially no beta
-
@zhang965 but I am asking if we can share that already
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos grazie, sono in fibrillazione
-
Wow… didn’t see that one coming. Bold move Suunto! -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Hey Captain. Super excited about this - can’t wait to see how the new firmware works and reacts.
-
Links in Suuntos Peak models are not working or, at least, I can’t find a link…

I hope that users realise this. Otherwise I suspect only complains on this threat if this version still contains some imperfections which might mess up their data.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos bravo for this move!
Although Suunto has reasons to not do it before, guess this can benefit a lot suunto and the users.
One doubt, why no release notes (same for app)? -

Update Files === *Download the file and drag and drop to SuuntoLink - **DO NOT UNZIP the** file*
It’s only installable through SuuntoLink? Here I thought switching to a BT-upgradeable watch would get me rid of SuuntoLink and dirty hacks to upgrade firmware of my Suunto watch from Linux
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I’m new to this forum. How can use the link for the 9 peak pro? There is no “click” on the link, nothing happens

Never mind, found out how to install it w/o SuuntoLink by opening link in Firefox on Android, then Open in App.
Thanks a lot for allowing us to beta test.

Links should be fixed. The forum was removing the deeplinks.
-
@taziden sorry my mistake should be fixed now
-
Can we have changelog? It would be useful to evaluate if the new features are worth the beta risk
-
@zhang965 hotfix is officially out
-
@fluca Asking …

Awesome Suunto! Finally all Suunto users can feel a bit like field testers
