      It would be nice if the maximum zoom level on the map were increased by a factor of 2. Right now it is a bit hard to get the context for an area, especially off-trail.

      I don’t know all the tradeoffs they made, so I don’t know how hard this would be.

      Thanks

      BTW, what exactly is the distance shown on the bar in the map display? It seems to be the distance corresponding to the radius of the watch face.

        @harlanstockman

        I suggested this too suunto in the survey as the only thing I felt need improving with map is to have it zoom out much further to get context in unfamiliar areas.

            @harlanstockman Just speculation…

            If I look at the map rendering speed from 200m-> 500m it gets significantly slower. It could be that 1000m and more can be problematic for the watch right now. Maybe that needs some rework?

              @surfboomerang i noticed that. Perhaps an algorithmic change is needed. My 2004 garmin 60c renders faster, for more pixels.

                  @harlanstockman I also have a similar wish. From my point of view it would be enough that the details are greatly reduced when zooming over 500m. In case you have a track loaded it would be great you could have an overview of where you are on the track. Even without details you could see how far you have come.

                    @Sascha-Domres yes, even the route, breadcrumb and pointer on white background would be useful.
