Software Firmware Update Suunto Vertical?!
-
@babychai it would have to be someone at Suunto in order to know if the bug is acknowledged or dismissed or waiting for review or any other status.
That would at last allow for people like me to avoid waiting for months to fix the nag in S5.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel Mod here will help us to report our bug to Suunto, no? Suunto will determine which one is the major bugs and which one is minor bugs and fix it according to the priority they set. That’s why we have to wait.
Whether dismissed or not it’s hard to say. Your bug is fixed doesn’t mean fixed for others because everyone usage is different. Continue to report the bug after hotfix released if still have any.
Just my personal opinion. -
Is there an update coming this week? Tomorrow??
-
@mikekoski490 all say update will come… But when!!! Should be this week… Amy infos for that?

Almost 6months after the release of the Vertical and a new watch already released and still no updates . time is running out for my Vertical to get its first real update (improve maps feature/ improvement the UI / add HRV / fixed structured workout)

@Wilson75 If the Vertical gets the same firmware as the Race (and thats what I heard), I would really say it’s really worth the waiting. Using the race feels as someone has „cleaned up“ everything. I ordered the Vertical when it was released, although it was sort of an overkill for my needs and with a 600€ pricetag more than I really needed, but I wanted to support Suunto, so I ordered it. But with all the little bugs here an there I deceided to sent it back and wait for an update.
When the Race was announced then, being 150€ less and with an updated firmware, it was clear for me, that I would get one. But if Suunto had just updated the Vertical with the same firmware as the Race, I would have ordered one again too. The Race for me is a quantum leap in features and especially usability and I am pretty sure you will find it awesome too, once the firmware arrives on the Vertical

@ChrisA I’m really interested to see how much improved the lag will be when swapping between widgets on the new Vertical firmware. I understand the Race is very responsive, but it’s not clear if that’s due to a different processor and more RAM…I still haven’t been able to find any confirmation if the Race does have more RAM/faster processor than the Vertical or not. Anyone?
-
@LitchiMonster I believe that Vertical was pushed out in little rush and due that many optimizations were not made for the release. I am expecting Vertical to be mostly on par with race performance. So hold your horses people! Hopefully next week we all something to test
-
@LitchiMonster The widgets‘ speed on the Race are on par with other current watches and really responsive. But I could imagine that they could run similar on the Vertical, since it has a lower resolution (280x280)?

In the Suunto Race the widgets are in a vetical menu. Vertical will get the same and scrolling through that is actually very responsive.
-
@Egika Will the 9pp get the same kind of vertical scrolling? I prefer it over the horizontal.

@Highlands yes
