Panning the map when an activity is paused?
-
Really enjoying the new Suunto Vertical. Today went for a trail run (used the basic trail run sport mode). It is lovely to pan the map while running. I would highly appreciate being able to see the map when I pause the activity. Being able to pan the map and see what is ahead for me when an activity is paused. However when an activity is paused, it is not possible to see the map and work with it. Is this happening only to me? Is it limited to certain sport modes? Dunno whether this was already asked.

@HonzaVankat A lot of information is not available during a pauze. It is unclear to me why Suunto implemented it this way. One reason I can think off is to make it clear to the user that the watch is not recording so you don’t forget to turn it on again when you continue.
It makes a lot of sense to see your datafields or the map during a pause but unfortunately it is not possible.

@HonzaVankat I see it the same way 100%. It would also be great if the scale could be zoomed in even further. (more than 500m).

@Sascha-Domres Thank you for your remarks. I don’t want to risk falling down when running while looking at the map. At the same time I want to keep the stats of my run as correct as possible. If I stop to pan the map and plan my next move, I don’t want the watch to record the activity as if I was running. This makes the map a bit pointless if I can’t work with them when an activity is paused.
I hope Suunto will come with new firmware to enable panning the map while an activity is paused. I support your suggestion to extend the zooming possibilities. Is there any special thread or group where people could make such suggestions and Suunto developers would see what are the most poignant concerns? I hope they visit the forum anyway, but I’d expect a special thread/voting for the most preferred requests.
Thanks.
