Multi-sport activity sport selection

@freeheeler Normally when I do a multi-sport activity is when I’m recovering from an injury and have to sport indoor. That’s why I select sport modes that I normally never use.

@surfboomerang I think that the sports outside the shortlist are compressed and stored somewhere, and therefore not accessible during activity. Selecting a sport outside the shortlist is slower, i.e. the start screen does not come immediately after pressing, as it happens with sports in the shortlist.

@isazi hmm… could be. Never thought of that.

Anyway, it’s not a big deal since I do my best to keep the number of injuries to an absolute minimun over the years so I don’t need the multi-sport mode a lot.
It just caught my attention the last time I selected it.

Or do you mean I can use custom sport modes in the multisport selection?

@Egika Yes, my understanding is you can add whatever you want in the multisport mode. So, if you use two connected sports a lot just have those two default to the multisport mode.

@Brad_Olwin thank you - I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing (maybe language barrier…)

Multisport as it works now:

start activity with any sport mode
press and hold upper button
select another activity from the list that holds the most recent sports modes used

Triathlon as it works now:

start triathlon activity
advance through the fixed set of disciplines by pressing and holding the upper button (-> transition) and subsequently just pressing the upper button (-> next discipline)

What I understand, a custom multisport mode could be:

set up the sequence of activities in the app with dedicated screens and pod connections (like MTB -> transition -> trailrun -> transition -> canoe etc).

The latter is not there yet as I understand and has be requested a lot to also customize thiathlon screens, set up swim-runs etc.

@Brad_Olwin what are you referring to by mentioning “setting up a custom mulitsport profile”?

Custom sports mode are always in the short list, so you can always use them for multisport
