Battery drain
-
Last night 14% battery lost without use.
I’ll try to update to latest software, I updated Race S yesterday.
Now SV battery lasts similar than Race S, around a week… -
@Antoine fix for battery drain will come in another update in a couple of weeks.

@isazi
you are so patient to repeat all time the same -

I agree, we got 2 comments at some points from testers, alert users.
-
one is that some of battery drainage were fixed along with this release (.37)
-
the other is that a hot fix is coming in a couple of weeks regarding battery issues, to close that story once for all, with all thenuse cases reported here.
both comment may be true I guess. they may also have introduced the new log system along with the firmware just released, that will help to get feeback from real life usage, and make sure the hotfix is correcting everything related to battery usage.

On day 6 now with my watch with two running exercises. Battery left 35%. Right now I need to have it in battery saving mode. Can’t charge it either because I forgot my charger 🫠
-
How does your “battery drain” manifest itself?
I have had my Vertiacl for 11 months now and have not had a single problem so far.
-
@Sportsfreund For me, with about 1 hour of cycling and 1 hour of running a day (plus some jump rope), the battery drops around 10% per day. So I end up charging it roughly every 10 days.
-
@obhikkhu
Me too! First day with my vertical. Battery 100% at 9 am.
30 minutes of running, no notification : 91% now (9pm) 🥴 -
@Matthieu_45 A fix is on the way. I turned off notifications, and also disabled sleep tracking and 24/7 HR tracking. It’s much better now, but the battery issue is still real. I read somewhere that a fix is currently being tested.
-
@Matthieu_45
Oh wow, can’t confirm this issue.
-
@Sportsfreund Apparently, using maps during an activity is what triggers the battery drain.
-
@obhikkhu OK, since I mostly move in familiar terrain, I only use it very rarely.
When I run, the map is always on the display. I run often but still can’t confirm the significant loss.
-
@Matthieu_45 You can use this temporary solution (one of the earlier posts here):
@isazi said in Battery drain:
My personal workaround while we wait for a fix is: if you use navigation just reboot your watch at the end, after syncing the activity with your phone.
This is my personal view, nothing from Suunto
I managed to send logs to Suunto and hope a fix for this will be included in the next firmware. I also believe it is not the GPS but the storage that is kept active, GPS would give an even larger battery consumption. No confirmation from Suunto yet. I try to keep the forum informed as much as I can

It’s not only the map. Following a route also triggers this. Even without the map.
-
@surfboomerang I also noticed this behavior… using the map and following a route during exercises drains the battery more than usual, and after that, the drains continue… perhaps the soft reset can help? I try this…
@isazi I sent log now, 09:35, I don‘t know if this is useful?
-
@SuperFlo75 no need to send logs. This has already been confirmed by Suunto. Fix will come soon (hopefully)
In the mean time, just reboot the watch after a navigation activity. -
I know what caused my battery drain.
- Ocan Watchface with compass instead of battery.
Last 30 hours I have been using Race watchface and there is no battery drain at all.
Have gone from 35% to 33%, and i have also been exercising.

@Iggge
It will come again, don’t worry .
