@raphschroeder No workaround other than not touching maps. We sent our logs, locations, described issue pattern well. Now we need to wait and trust in Suunto dev team

@Mff73 thanks I did

I had some grid-issues, too, but with the old watch firmware.
Today’s run with map active did not result of any disappearance although I heavily used the map to orientate and zoomed in and out from.max to minimum and reverse. Let’s see how it develops.Just a question: how are maps updated after they received a (significant) update, e.g. after I had them on my watch for three months or so?
How am I to suppesed to learn about a map update, or will the map just update somehow in the background? (I have to admit I can’t imagine the ‘automatic map update’) -

For now there has been no map update released. Suunto is very probably working on it. Let’s see when it comes how they will make it work (update or uninstall/install again).
I have made some OSM corrections around my place few months ago after SV was released. They have been visible just few days after in OSM. I have tried by curiosity just a few days ago to uninstall/install my area again on my SV. Corrections are not there. -

@pavel-samokha Good evening, will this update concern mapping the names of objects? I hope it will be even larger than 2 km
-
@dzembronja I was talking about map data update (roads, landcover, whatever).
What you are asking, ability to show lower zoom levels and additional info like names, are related to watch software capabilities. I can’t say when it will be possible but of course it’s known limitations
-
@pavel-samokha Of course, thank you for the answer, tell me about the black squares on the map, is this not a lack of a clock? Is it a software problem?
-
@dzembronja yes
-
@pavel-samokha Good day, I understand you, that this is a software problem, right? Thank you for your answer
-
@dzembronja yes, software problem, not data problem.
-
@pavel-samokha Because I thought it was the lack of a watch, that’s why I’m asking you this, it makes me happy that the problem is of a different plan,you reassured me,thaks

@pavel-samokha Hi, can you tell us where Dev team is with fixing this issue? I have my SV stiil getting “black grid” and eventually crashing on particular map areas (when I’m running there or just moving map there). Do you know if the same issue was reported or reproduced for Race too? If it was, does new 2.30.32 update fix that?
-
@Majkel-Paszeko please DM me the location
-
If you have an issue with the maps please add your location in this thread https://forum.suunto.com/topic/9741/black-grid-issue
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Thanks, I know this thread and I posted location there already 2 weeks ago and now again. For me it’s a little concern however that Suunto is still collecting “bad” locations. Just like the issue was not yet addressed, navigated or even reproduced by Dev Team? Or is it map files issue as itself and each locations must be fixed individually?
-
We’re collecting issues to study root causes
At least one issue was identified and we have a fix, but I can’t promise when there will be a FW release containing it
Black grid is normally software issue, not data issue -
@pavel-samokha thanks for your response. Could you tell us a little, why this is happening on particular map locations only? Is it because of too many objects (trails) to be displayed in this area? This kind of information could help us at least avoiding using maps in such “dense” locations.
