Worst software update
-
Any way I can downgrade to 2.23.20?
The latest version 2.23.34 screwed up my watch so bad. I start an activity and in 5 minutes goes back to main screen. It repeats notifications from the phone every couple minutes as well.
Never encountered such issues with my watch since I got it, and it’s been years.
Worst version update ever! -

Hello @Nic-Puia
Of course you can downgrade your S9,
You can download the previous firmware and drop on the gear icon in your Suuntolink.BTW, it’s the time to get your suunto vertical, isn’t it
-
@Nic-Puia
edit: ok, I came late…2.23.24… I guess?
I don’t have any issues with 2.23.24 and haven’t heard about issues either.
anyhow, you can download 2.23.20 for ibiza from this link and drag n drop it as it is into your suuntolink

@freeheeler
Yes, 2.23.24. I did it last night and in the middle of the night the arrow down was showing on my watch. I said, it must be something with the software update just did few hours ago.
Once I connected it to the app, asked for resetting. Did that, went out for a walk, found gps in about 10 minutes, activity started, crashed in 300 meters.
Also, notifications started popping up every 2-3 minutes. I’m like what the hell is going on?
Hope 2.23.20 will get it back the way it was.
Btw, what’s the difference between Ibiza and Lima version? -
@Nic-Puia
Lima’s non baro.
did you download 2.23.20 already? saw your question in the other thread “hotfix”. we don’t have anything more than that. I hope it helps
please let us know otherwise.
a lot of people who really suffered from 2.23.20 issues were involved to try 2.23.24 before the release. none reported issues with it. on my watch it’s working flawlessly, too. -
@zhang965
Thanks.
Yeah, vertical is awesome. Thinking about it. -
@freeheeler
Got an error updating to 2.23.20 which again got the reset option. Doing that gave the update to 2.23.20 option. Weird. Going through that now.Edit: Successfully downgraded now to 2.23.20. No issues going through the setup process, no crashes.
Taking the dog out for a walk to see if I get the same symptoms as earlier with 2.23.24. Fingers crossed. -
@Nic-Puia
hopefully it’s solved
but don’t hesitate to update next time (whenever this might be), as updates generally improve the watch -
@freeheeler
Got back home, GPS signal never acquired during the walk (about 15 minutes), still being acquired now although it’s been calibrated.
Any notification received on the phone will crash the activity and take it to main screen, the time screen.
Also, I noticed, it repeats the same phone notifications over and over, every few minutes. So weird.
I’ll update it to 2.23.24 now and try again with another walk. Lol -
@Nic-Puia
did you update AGPS after downgrade and wait for the arrow to become green (lock satellites)?
sounds strange -
@freeheeler
Yes, it never turned green. Not acquired. So strange, and that’s on 2.23.20. -
@Nic-Puia
I’ll PM you -
@Nic-Puia
AGPS need a while to unpack after a reset
10/15 min sometimes -
@sartoric
I’ll wait a bit. Every time I start an activity it crashes waiting for GPS signal to be acquired. -
Got it working again on 2.20.28 though. Explained in the other thread, Hotfix 2.23.24
-
@Nic-Puia
back to 2018 -
@freeheeler Is that the year it was released? Omg! Didn’t know. Lol
Well, it works. Everything is accurate, don’t see any changes from what I had last night before I updated to 2.23.24. -
@Nic-Puia if you are having such issues on current firmware you should contact support, as there may be something wrong with your watch.
-
@isazi
Yeah, I think I’ll do that. Thanks.
