@Umer-Javed Yeah, I was really impressed when I saw the pic of your wrist with the ambit and the 9pp.
-
Has anybody experience with the microfiber strap using with the SV? I used one with my S9PP… I liked the soft feeling in daily using, but I also noticed that it was a bit loose… how does it work with the heavier SV?
I just wanted to test it, but my wife likes it so much with her new/ my old S9PP… she don‘t want to give it back to me… 🥲 -
@SuperFlo75 I am using the microfibre strap at home since it’s super comfortable. Also for sports sometimes, but I prefer a silicone strap for that. Not because the microfibre one is loose, but because silicone manages sweat better (for me). If you’re worried about inaccurate HR with the strap, I’d recommend a chest strap - I’m always using that.
-
@tomasbartko I really was worried about the heart rate accuracy with the microfiber strip because it feels soft and loose. I will see… the new silicone strips (athletic 2) are more comfortable than the strips of the S9PP (urban)…

@JonnyKarate I have the full black one. Maybe it eases your mind, that the black space actually has a super important use.
It is where the GPS antenna is located - without it the watch would not have its stellar GNSS performance! -
@Umer-Javed My Suunto Peak and Suunto Vertical.
-
@Egika that’s good to know! I ended up getting the Titanium black one though. Either way, it’s a fantastic watch!

@isazi 1hr is much improved. still wish the x axis was distance not time. way more intuitive and useful IMO than time. the elevation graph will show a plateau if you stop at the top of a peak for a while. then later when you analyze your data it won’t resemble that whatsoever in the real elevation profile.

sorry if already asked.
In the SV manual there is
But do someone notice that if you still long press (little longer) the upper button, when on 500m zoom, then the map is changed from outdoor to dark, then if you do it again from dark to map off, and the again to high contrast and again to map outdoor
-
@Mff73 yes, the super long press changes map style
-
@Mff73 Indeed and you don’t even need to be at 500m zoom.

indeed, but super long press then will do both zoomout+map change

Here it is…
-
@mikeorbreak nice! If only the forest green band was back in stock in the US…
-
What is a square? It is not visible in all copies. Is this normal? ![alt text]( image url)
-
@mlatej I have it in mine. I believe it’s part of the solar panel.
-
Finally arrived. Ti solar black with addional Canyon strap on the way, as like the longer strap and will use 2 x button keepers.
Took a long time to get to Vancouver but well worth it. This really is an amazing screen and build and UI.
I’ve done a long ride and a run and no issues - map download easy and navigation working perfectly. Also, GPS acquisition extremely fast, and amazing accuracy.
Can’t recommend enough. Definitely an improvement on the S9PP for readability, as I can run 5 data screens for the first time - couldn’t even do this on Fenix 6X solar. Do miss the more easy to wear size of the 9PP though, but definitely a worthy trade off for function.
Nice!
Question for moderators - can the voice feedback dialect be changed or chosen? The voice is nice but I’m having a hard time with the current accent of the stock one, evrn though the voice is nice… ?
-
@mlatej Not a square, that is the solar panel wire.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Music in the watch is required by a large number of people. There is internal memory in the watch, so it would just be a software setting. Coros and Garmin have music.
-
@Walter-Samuel because there is storage at the device it doesn’t mean that there is all the hardware to support, for example drm decoding etc. And even in the case of hw being there, or possible to do that it doesn’t mean that a) it’s easy sw wise , b) should be done. I am sure Suunto is not building a have it all watch, thus the name vertical.
Coros has mp3 support and the people that own mp3 has become a niche now-a-days. A proper implementation and b2b is needed for streaming services to download drm content for offline listening in the niche case that you are fine with paring your headset with your watch, having dropsouts , battery drain , and many other complexities (UI wise) for the few cases that you leave the phone at home. My humble opinion
