speculations and rumours about upcoming Suunto watches

@Wilson75 said in speculations and rumours about upcoming Suunto watches:
I want to send it to Suunto support to fix it but I don’t want to have a free wrist. How long does it take from pre-order to ordering/shipping for new watch?
Some time ago I sent my A3P for the same reason and iirc it took less than a week from .it
-
@Freezer so you mean someone who’s name starts with a p ?
-
@Andi-Buzer, actually no, one with a g. But the one with a p is also flashing it. Soon it will be the whole alphabet.
-
Maybe the bottle is some kind of external barometer that is required by the watch.
-
Got my finger on the trigger.
Hope it’s a worthy upgrade over 9p.
-
@Ketoohs I hope it is. What I would miss is just the size, I really like the size of the 9P (and 9PP), it is so light, barely noticeable, and all rumors point at a larger watch.
-
@isazi well I really hope the size iz 49mm and the screen is bigger. It is one of my biggest drawbacks with the 9p. Especially when I run a structured run I can sometimes barely see what it says.
The other thing is lack of power.
On the wish side there is treadmill accuracy, and hrv, sleep, life analytics.
-
@isazi I agree. I have always had larger watches - from Suunto to Garmin to Coros - but I currently have the 9PP on a grey Suunto microfiber strap and it’s only 46 grams. It is easily the most comfortable ‘wrist device’ I have ever had, and the best looking. Hoping the upcoming announcement has a few upgrades and bug fixes for the 9PP too, since I bought it for its improved internals and ability to update to more advanced features!
-
@mikekoski490 the 9PP is not forgotten, it has a substantial update coming (May? June?) to the firmware for what I know, and if there is a new watch coming I would bet that all features that are not hardware dependent will also come to the 9PP.
-
@isazi what about us poor Peak neighbours? Any hardware updates in the pipeline? It’s been 6 months since anything? The app improvements have been brilliant, especially the Suunto Coach feature, but would love to know if you can get more out of the older watches.
-
@Steven-Limmer I think at some point it was romoured that older watches should get at least one more update. But it’s been a while, and maybe plans got changed. Usually FW updates go live slightly after new watch gets announced. So we’ll find out soon enough.
-
@Steven-Limmer older watches should also get updates, for sure. As far as I know all watches we have have updates in the pipeline. Of course, newer watches are more capable and get more features.

Spartan and Ambit series also?
-
@isazi I absolutely LOVE my Peak - it’s the perfect size, and as a long term Suunto user, I’m happy with it. But it would be nice to have improved brightness / menu / power.
I could be very tempted with this new watch, depending on the feature-set, or wait out for the inevitable Suunto 7 upgrade (hopefully with external sensor compatibility; my actual Suunto watch…)
-
@André-Faria I’m a massive fan of the 9P, I moved from the 9 for it. So comfortable on the wrist, amazing for 24/7 wear. Plus its aesthetically pleasing
-
@Steven-Limmer I also have a peak but doesn’t really need more functions. I don’t use all that is in the watch now but we all have different needs.
-
@Richard-Thygesen if I had a magic wand, I’d ask for better screen brightness, and running power.
The ultimate watch for me would be the body and features of Peak Pro, with an AMOLED screen…
-
Really enjoyed reading all the excitement and thoughts here… I can’t wait until the 9th of May also
-
@MarcW 9 or 10?

Get the feeling Marc is toying with us.
