I like better the simpler design of S9PP which I own.
Iām super excited to see the SV launch! But given what Iāve seen so far Iām likely not a potential customer.For me a transformational change has been the size of the S9PP (over the A3P I used) and Iām loving that I can wear it 24/7 on my thinner wrists. Previously Iād switch between a fitness tracker and the A3P, but I love the S9PP because āthe best watch is the one you have with youā. If the ~49 mm case for the Vertical is true then itās likely bigger than what Iād like to have all the time on my smaller wrists.
I imagine the SV fills a slightly different role and more focused on the active experience with the larger screen than convenient size for 24/7. I hope thereās a miniaturized SV in a case size closer to the S9PP thatāll be available in some time. Something along what Garmin and others do with different size offerings.
In the past Iāve tried to keep big watch/phone purchases last 3-5 years so Iām likely out of the market, but if a miniaturized version of the SV was on the horizon then the used watch market will have an S9PP available
I also have seen new compelling watch faces that hopefully will be ported also in the older watch.
Honestly, Iām waiting for a cleaner analog face that also displays daylight hours on the S9PP. Added this to the surveys too.In the S9P they did an awesome job regarding confort, and it was not only about size and weight. I had garmins with similar size and weight that were not as comfortable as the s9p, so maybe they arrive to do it on the SV.
Also for those seeking small watches they have the s9pp, ok it doesnāt have maps nor solar, but I guess itās Suuntoās āaffirmationā of doing only things that work, and for those you may need a bigger watch. -
@AndrƩ-Faria do you mean the picture in the bottom of this FB post?

@Theo-Lakerveld nope.
It was this one but showing the watch. They edited it.

@Umer-Javed I am actually a relatively big guys with a relatively large wrist. Up untill some month ago a watch case smaller than 47mm was impossible to buy for me. I thought for instance, the S9PP @ 42mm would have looked too little and weird on my wrist and was one of those guys āwaiting for the big modelā. On the other hand I was intrigued by the snorkeling functionality (Yes I like apnea too) and wanted to give a try to S9PP. At first, coming from A3 and S9B, S9PP looked too litle weird and almost embarising on me, felt like a toy. A forced my self too keep it 4 days and see if I could get used to it. And actually it was the case. When I tryied to get back to S9B it looked too big and uncomfortable. So I choosen to stay on S9PP and sold S9B. Not a regret since then. It looks fantastic on my wrist and is conforrable when I do crossfit, weight training etcā¦
So I am an advocate for relatively smaller watch now and do not feel the need for a bigger one, if it does not introduce any ground-breaking functionality.
But to be honest, S9PP does satisfy me completely as an selft-trained athlete and almost completely as an adventurer.
But I am extremely happy that suunto is putting on the table new watches and hope it enlarges its customer base. -
@AndrƩ-Faria
Guess why -
Something REALLY cool is coming from Suunto. Set this date in your calendar: May 9th, 10:00h AM CET. Stay tuned.
-
@Jose-Luis I think he should know the dateā¦

There is still Space and time for more dreams
A lot has been revealed already, but it is very different from the paper to the use.
I believe and hope that if Suunto took the time to implement certain features is because they did it differently and in a way they think it is not a gimmick but truly useful. -
@isazi no more leak hunting, no more guessing, just facts and nice photos
-
Apparently, may 9th at 10:00 is the day weāre going to learn more.
-
Gonna block my work calendar for a very important client meeting
-
Ooooh, I still have 15 sick days left this year
-
@MiniForklift
Suunto news make us anything else but sick on the other hand, it could be defined as an accident: āā¦an unforseen circumstance that prevents you from being able to workā¦ā -
I am guessing if I can pass this as a training/conference. So working without working and afterwards the networking with people (this forum) where we state what we learned (about the new watch)ā¦ Oh and the preorder would be the Gala of the evening
-
@Hristijan-Petreski letās see, Iāll watch this announcement, check the forum, and if it is a new watch and it fits my requirements, Iāll also hit the preorder button on day 1.
-
Suunto IG reposted stories of testers I guess, hinting new watch is just before the release. Does a cool looking bottle come with a new watch?
-
@dulko79 oh Suunto is teasing us now
