Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
Am I the only one wishing Suunto would bring back the 2missing buttons like the 5 the great and powerful Ambit3 used to have. Long presses or swiping the screen to go back is a half baked solution. The back button was cleaner and quicker for navigation. Also, as others have mentioned, a lock option is a must on the time screen. Not everyone where’s it as a watch all the time. I keep mine in my kit bag when travelling to events and it drives me nuts it starting itself.

If Suunto could somehow retain the size but reduce the weight of the 9 Baro, they’d 100% be in the game.
Wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. I’m not a fan of the look of the chunky black bezel, but I’m also keenly aware as was noted earlier that most watches have a sizable bezel – but other brands mask it with hashmarks or other visual noise (often making it very tactical looking), which fools a lot of buyers.
I bought a S9B in part for its bigger watchface with relatively small bezel, but if you’d blend the 50mm size of the S9B and slim it down some like the S9P, that watch would be game-changing gold for our industry. Plus a 50mm size would allow for a lot of hardware real estate to build off of in coming years.
Edit to add: There are absolutely lots of other reasons I love my Baro, but to focus stylistically, it would be absolute perfection in design at about 2mm thinner off the wrist, with all other visual specs and build quality the same. It’s a watch size that’s easy to see while running trails, looks stunning in any environment, and has survived more than its share of falls and scrapes.

@TrailEyes interestingly everyone complains about the size of the bezel (me too!) but I’ve used Polar watches too over the years and they’ve always had large bezels. My S9B though seems to be pretty good really. I don’t notice it too much. The 9PP is nice, but if I’m out on the trails I prefer a large watch and the S9B is an absolute tank, and I love it for it’s robustness and all round quality. If they made a 9 baro pro then I’d definitely look at that. But great to see Suunto upping their game again.

Only one GPS mode is available that uses all GNSS systems at the same time.
So no option to select glonass etc

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos since i notice you have slate color. Is the bazel matt look or the same as previous versions where bazel was shiny
-
Pro looks way better imo. More bare, raw, less jewellery.
That’s why I switched order from black to slate -
@mountainChris
the slate is my favorite, too. it’s a great design.
I also like the ocean a lot, especially the strap design. -
@kielegat no, it seems that there are hardware constraints
-
@krakra it looks brushed somehow. I like it
-
I recorded this little video to show how the menu responsiveness looks

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
thank you for sharing!
…the “I want it” feeling is growing -
I have a couple of questions for the testers.
- Did they add a sport mode “duathlon”?
- Is it possible to edit the sport mode “triathlon”?
- Is it possible to create your own sport mode with one-touch switching? (Example: ski race - transit - bike - transit - run).
- Has the body resource bug where resources drop to 0 after stretching been fixed?
- Are there any changes to the “swimming in the pool” sport mode? (rest timer, adding distance for leg exercises).
Thanks!
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos much more responsive, but still a little bit laggy. Will suunto work on improving this or is the performance limited due to hardware limitations?

No idea why someone downvoted you, must have been a mistake

Not that I know, but there is an experimental swimrun S+ app to test things like automatic transition. From rumors I heard, if everything goes well these may transition from S+ to the firmware.
- Is it possible to edit the sport mode “triathlon”?
No.
- Is it possible to create your own sport mode with one-touch switching? (Example: ski race - transit - bike - transit - run).
I don’t know, probably not.
- Has the body resource bug where resources drop to 0 after stretching been fixed?
Dimitrios said yes the other day.
- Are there any changes to the “swimming in the pool” sport mode? (rest timer, adding distance for leg exercises).
No, also for that it may come to S+ first and firmware later.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Is this with the final firmware or still beta?
-
@surfboomerang beta
-
@Stas-Varazhbit the reosuces should be fixed and coming up I think for all devices.

Also with the update for the S9P? -
The ability to change the order of the screens is great and long requested. Isn’t this also planned for older watches? I don’t think this is limited by hardware. Or am I wrong?
-
It would be nice with the S9P update to at least have the new activity selection or something equivalent. I think this should not be too complicated and does not require the new hardware. .
