Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel you are not alone…
-
A lot of Testers here using this watch for quite some time. Feel free to ask us. The battery life is indeed amazing. I cannot remember when I last charged it. I do 15-20h a week of exercise and don’t charge more than once every two weeks or so.
-
@DMytro yeah. I enjoy the photo quality of Pixels and their portability since hm, Nexus 5 but what I really miss is a useful tele lens. It seems that Pixel 7 Pro has a nice tele, but I’ll have to wait for some real-world RAWs to judge if it’s worth the absurd price.
@Brad_Olwin this is really impressive. How does the new interface work like when compass is in view? Is it as slow to refresh as it used to be, or quicker?
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel only the pro has a Tele lens
-
@Mff73 no fused track. We use a different method that still pings gps every 1s
-
Is it possible to run several apps like TrainingPeaks Run to have NGP and Stryd app together? Or even to configure e.g. NGP as one Datafield so I do not to switch between my main screen and the app screen?
-
@Brad_Olwin how sound notifications (and vibration) look like compared to the S9P ?
-
@dulko79 here you get an impression of watch face (the old ones have not changed), pre-start screen and exercise fonts:
-
@Brad_Olwin battery life looks great. Is it true that S9PP doesn’t measure average and min. HR during sleep, openwater swimming distance and adaptive training guidance? At least in suunto website watch comparision it looks like it.

@isazi what are the pins on the back?
These have no function for users. Only for Suunto’s use for debugging

Avg HR during sleep is there - minimum in SA. Of course open water swimming distance as well.
Adaptive training guidance is something that only S3 has.
-
@Egika s5 has adaptive training guidance as well afaik. What’s the reason to remove minimal hr?

Sound is about the same as Peak, too weak for me but vibration is much better! I use vibration for intervals without issue.
-
@trailcafe right now only one S+ function can be active, but this watch is more powerful so that may come in the future.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Does that mean that in e.g. endurance mode gps is pinged every second? Or every minute as it is now?
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel The entire UI is much faster.
-
@DMytro right. S5 and S5P have adaptive training guidance. It has always been an entry model feature for Suunto’s.
Min HR at least is not in the sleep data from last night on the watch. I need to check, what the wake up screen has.
The app has it. So it’s recorded. -

The minimum is still in the app, I think that is the best place for it. Just not shown on the watch…
-
@Brad_Olwin i don’t see min HR in watch on S5 too. When it is in the app it is enough
-
Looks like more of the same but nevertheless it looks interesting. But then again, Suunto has been a misunderstood brand to the sports community. Glad to hear there’s a good OHR monitor on this one.
Not entirely sold just yet but I’m definitely leaning in this direction. I’d still like to wait and see what’s on the horizon from Suunto before pulling the trigger and replacing my S9B. Lol unlike some of you here I don’t have $500+ to blow every 6 months or so.
Is DC Rainmaker skipping this one or just late?
