A new font is referenced on that link:

      “Great
readability: The new font is easier to read. Bigger numbers and contrasting colours make checking the information a breeze, even when on the go.”

If this is the case, that changes everything. The current peak is impossible to read with my crappy eyesight, this might make it useable on a run! I really hope all these new features (hardware excluded) trickle down to the other S9 watches, but they might be constrained by the new processors…

@dulko79 thanks! “…Performance and fitness tests: Measure your performance with tests like Cooper test and threshold test…” sounds interesting 😀

@freeheeler said in Suunto 9 Peak Pro?:

I’ve got 50mm now and would much much appreciate 50mm again but thinner.

          100% agree!

I dislike a 46mm and smaller watch so much (especially if it’s got a particularly small display because of a big bezel) that I’d buy another S9B down the road before I’d buy something smaller…even if that small watch were newer. As a trail runner, I gotta have a screen that’s big enough to see when I’m bouncing around on uneven terrain.

Suunto is doing a lot of things right and very good. Not only soft and firmware, but also the mechanical things like haptics, materials and new position of baro sensors.
unfortunately I don’t get why the S9P was released as a 43mm version only. It is nice for athletes who prefer a small watch, of course.

@ChrisA that’s alrwady available le on the SA suunto store with is gorgeously implemented. Looks like a new, better looking version of MOVESCOUNT app. I have to admit that I had that sensation of nostalgy and relief and I though ‘SUUNTO IS SUUNTO AGAIN BUT BETTER’

@althaea35 thanks - haven’t looked into it for a while. Will give it a try when fit again (had a small surgery and can / should not train).

@aroo7 @freeheeler I have the same exact problem has you. I have quite a big wrist and feel better with a big watch sitting on it. Also I am starting getting old and my eyes are not working in near distance.
I have a S9B titanium and I love it , I wear it loose because otherwise it cause me pain( that’s all the watches not only S9).
I have to admit that whatever the sport I do I gets in my way,it moves to much. Running Hiking, Riding and Weight Lifting it is always moving to much.
I am considering a smaller watch. In my experience is just matter of getting used to it
In a couple of weeks if I will wear back my S9B It will look to big to my eyes. I know for sure.also I found that the actual diplay radius difference between S9B and S9P is 3mm.
So I do not think this have any functional impact.

@dulko79 I only hope the new UI comes to the S9 line.

@fluca @aroo7 @freeheeler watches are like TVs, the bigger the better 😊 . I have quite good eyesight and I think I could adapt well to a smaller watch but I like to check the data at glance and to do that I need big numbers and few fields, bigger screens helps to that. Right now I do not have the intention of changing my S9B, it is working well and without issues so I still hope it will last some more years.

@cosme-costa I do not believe new UI will be transferred to old watches due to hardware limitations. In the leaks it is said S9PP has new faster chip. But I guess we will know soon 😄

@dulko79 When S9P was released, didn’t somebody say that it has noticeably better CPU than S9B and will probably get more interesting features in the future? And now there’s S9PP which should be even faster? Interesting 🙂 I think that S9P owners might get quite angry if S9PP offers better software than S9P…

@isazi I totally agree… It’s just that when S9P was released, after some discussions I got the impression that S9P is now the top model that was expected to grow and noticeably improve for a few years. And bang, now the S9PP comes and most probably becomes Suunto’s top interest. If S9P doesn’t improve, people might start feeling Spartan-ish 😄

@inkognito S9P is definitely improving, as the S3/S5/S9 are doing. It has already better hardware than the S9, and in fact support things (e.g. off wrist detection) that the S9 does not. But new models will always be better and get something more.

Said that, I am not replacing my S9P for the time being.
