Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
-
Pro expression has become popular in tech world. For my taste it is beautiful sport watch if real. It could be bigger, but people prefer smaller watches, more convenient for every day use. No sport watch comes close in styling compared to Suunto. Lets see what hardware and software bring —> new watchface inspiring new routines.

I think new watch would be absolutely great.
Yet I’m not very inspired by the specks listed (apart from 21 days of smart watch mode, this is a huge improvement for suunto).
New watchface - alright, cool. Bigger battery - also cool. Somehow battery modes seem resigned, I wonder why that is.I was kinda hoping that the next flagship would also be next gen: maps, more storage, snappier interface, wrist power and maybe a few gimmicks.
Of course, this leak doesn’t deny any of the above, but I wouldn’t expect much more newness in a pro version of an already existing watch. Time will tell.

It’s definitely a looker. That’s one area that really Suunto excels. There seems to be a new sensor next to the heart rate as compared to my current S9 peak.
I know my eye is starting to wander a little with things like the Epix 2 being tempting. But I prefer to stay in the Suunto ecosystem due to the app and some other reasons. I hope this the next big thing but kinda feel the new ownership needs a little more time to do that.

I’m curious what Suunto did to make this a “pro” watch. To me, this looks like my S9P with a different sensor setup.
-
It could be a new GPS chip with better efficiency. 25 h —> 40 h. Or even dual frequency for better accuracy.

Definetely a stunner, but from the pics it seems to still have the big black borders on the screen.
The 9 peak had a great design, if they are pushing the envelope on that design hope they managed to change the hardware regarding their speed.
Waiting to see how it goes -
Recently bought a SUUNTO 9 Baro Charcoal Black Titanium. Had a S9B for 3 years, then S9P since this year. For me a litte bit small (although I have thin wrists). Wearing my new SUUNTO 9 Baro Charcoal Black Titanium feels so much like coming home. It is so comfortable. I personally didn’t like the metal body, the rubber HR sensor, the metal pins, the band and the closer width. It did not feel so good on skin and to wear in compare to S9B by far and a love the huge display… Happy. Maybe this is the “final edition” S9B, if Pro will also have different sizes… S9B Look is so iconic

dispaly looks colorful like S7
-
@macdav unfortunately even s9p looks like that on such kind of photos…

@thanasis said in Suunto 9 Peak Pro?:
@macdav unfortunately even s9p looks like that on such kind of photos…
Because they are not photos of the actual watch, they are renderings
-
@isazi But the menu design looks a bit different. Nice!
-
@Pavlas maybe fake photo
-
@dulko79 I think 99.9% this will come.
-
Why did Suunto cancel its iconic blue color everywhere?
-
Why would I want that? I’ve just had a 9P delivered and we’re already discussing a new model .
-
Exactly @isazi ! That is what I meant

Guys, check this as well
Go through all the colour variants and check the images. You will find quite a few interesting things there. E.g., the interface before starting an excercise looks dangerously close to that of S7. You can see that in the image of the Titanium Sand variant where person holds the phone with heatmaps next to the watch. So, what if the Pro version has an AMOLED screen? That was also one of the options in the latest surveys.
I am also wondering about those two additional metal contacts at the back. Wasn’t there a question about an external battery for longer battery life in one of the surveys? What if these will be used for that?
So many questions…
As for the link: I simply googled “Suunto 9 Peak Pro” and obtained that as one of the results…
EDIT: The other colour variants are now hidden in that page. But I managed to get the links from the archive:

@inkognito Screen size (inches) 1.7 "
interesting

@inkognito ye, oled screen is what I thought too. Maybe they just put in a more powerful processor (hence the ‘pro’) and so they could afford some nicer animations. Or maybe they managed to pull it off using a similar processor as in s9/9p - we could see some of that in the next update.
Anyways, things are shaping up great. Also the price is reasonable - just as s9p titanium at the start of sales.
Also it says, available from 27.9, so it’s about one month away. -
@thanasis I think it’s not the screen but the whole body, with the bezel etc.
