Suunto 9 Peak Pro?

not even the newest Sony GPS firmware will save you from cloudy sky and semi tall buildings around when locking GPS signal ? I did wait for green arrow to be fixed and it was, however my S9PP took me for a ride around town. All you see in yellow circle is plain wrong.
Even it affected stryd pace and distance at the start, which I wasn’t expecting as those are set to come from Stryd pod rather than GPS.
This GPS issue got me all these pace achievements as per ICU
Best 100m for the season: 0m3s at 0:30/km!
Best 200m for the season: 0m8s at 0:40/km!
Best 400m for the season: 0m23s at 0:58/km!
Best 800m for the season: 1m24s at 1:45/km!any ideas to overcome this? like checking navigation screen before starting to make sure it’s locked at right place?
thx
My s9p takes long time to catch the gps after the update, I’d hold awhile before purchasing s9pp

@zhang965 I know Ive already posted this but Im having a really positive experience with S9PP and gps acquisition. Again, sitting at my desk on the 2nd floor of my house, about 2 feet from a window, and in a large city, I just got GPS lock for ‘Running’ in 8 seconds. Sorry others are having mixed results. My usual trail run gps tracks are also much better than Coros or Garmin, especially if I return the same route. Yesterday I actually thought Suunto had forgotten to track the return part of my run but it was just the gps tracks had completely overlapped each other it looked like one track.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel I also heard that you can use navigation fields with endurance and it stays in endurance mode.
S9PP only or also for other watches?
-
@Umer-Javed i never used analog watch face but the one you drafted looks fantastic and I would use. I have currently the S9PP black and I am missing a touch of red. Red arrow is fantastic.
-
@mikekoski490 Same here. GPS is spot on in the urban environment. Unfortunately I still can’t get a decent OHR reading while training. Just doesn’t work for me.
-
@surfboomerang S9PP only, it’s the new GPS chipset that allows this.

Are there any plans to make custom battery modes more configurable? Like setting backlight %, turning off vibrations and bt, etc.?
-
Is it by design that workouts default to performance battery mode? In S5 the watch used to remember last battery mode used.
-
@Łukasz-Szmigiel
if you use custom mode it should remember to select custom mode again. I don’t know the behavior when you use default modes only. I assume it always goes back to performance mode. I just tried ultra and with the next activity it goes back to custom -

It’s a feature, not a bu…

@zhang965
this feature doesn’t work for me then -

It should remember the last used battery mode per sport mode.
Only exception: After a firmware update, all sport modes will default to perfomance again. -
@Egika
I don’t know why, but my S9B kept custom mode after the upgrade -
@freeheeler interesting, I am always annoyed that with every update I am back at performance
-
It seems that mine is always back to performance. All other settings are OK, ie. auto laps.

Should I see decouple results in SA? I tried it first time today but I can’t see anything in SA.
Edit. I found it. Took a little while to sync it.
-
Is there a reason why the Suunto 9 Peak Pro is recorded as just “Suunto” on Strava? Previous Suunto devices are spelled out entirely on Strava for device used to record activity. Not a huge deal, but it seems incomplete or beta-ish.
-
@TyreseJ4 it was mentioned somewhere already that it takes Strava time to recognize new devices, so it will probably come later.
-
@DMytro It does? Since when? That’s never been the case.
-
@TyreseJ4
I had the impression that the collaboration between Strava and Suunto was a bit closer for some time (compared to now). Since I don’t have insights, it’s just a feeling.Does it matter what watch it shows in your Strava account? Mine shows Suunto 9, which applies for 4 potential different models now… models that are really differing
