Suunto 9 way out on descent and ascent
-
I suspect this may be a wider issue than just for the Suunto 9.
My Suunto 9 is measuring up and down very poorly - it is underestimating by between a third and a fifth.
I have noticed this on cycling mode but I suspect it is the case more generally.
I have followed the Suunto advice and synch regularly and have set to performance and use GPS+QZSS+Galileo.
I have done one or two events where the descends and ascents have been know and it is consistently inaccurate against Komoot and other apps.
Is there anything I can do about this and would a baro version be better (plenty of criticism of that which surprises me) or even switching to a different make? -
@Boris786 you may have a clogged or broken sensor. I do not have this issue. Do you have the baro or non-baro model? Never mind, the non-non-baro is ok on large hills but is poor on small rolling hills. Not much can be done for this
