      Hi everyone

I have my Suunto 9 Baro with a SmartSensor HR Belt since a few months.
During Skitouring Season it seemed to work fine. Start Tracking, HR Rate is shown immediately and seemed to be correct as well.
Now when I go biking or running it happends almost every time that when I select the a sport mode, the HR Belt Icon is displayed with a reasonable HR, but once I start recording the only dashes are shown instead the HR. And then maybe after 10-15 minutes the HR shows up. When I look at the track on Suunto App later the HR is there from the beginning (not always though).

Is this a known issue or has anyone the same problem? Any ideas?

Another Issue is that sometimes during a training the HR starts to rise slowly up to high numbers which I’m sure is wrong. Then sometimes it recovers again. Lets say I’m running at 140 and I know that I am, but over the course of 15 minutes the HR goes up to 160-170 and I know that it can’t be that high…

      Thanks, Ralf

@ralf-muri I think this is related not just the Suunto 9, I experience similar issues occasionally with my Ambit3. However, for me the high HR value from begining of the activity is indicating bad contact (didn’t wet enough the strap) or bad battery. As for dash instead of HR value, that could be bluetooth connection issue and many thing can cause it: clothing material, sweat or again low battery level. Sometimes pairing the sensor again with the watch helps, at least in my experience.
Hope one day Suunto app will be able to display battery level of the HR sensor. 🙂
