Average Pace per lap incorrect (S9B)

I hope this is the correct place on the forum to post this topic
I customized my watchface for running (S9B) so that on my screen I see basically 2 values:
- Average pace per lap
- Current pace
I start new laps manually using the lower right button. However when I manually start a new lap (and suppose, I immediately start running at a pace of 4min00/km instead of previously lap 5min30, my average shown on the screen corresponds with the total average of the entire activity.
If I am not wrong, I would expect to immediately see an average of the lap around 4min00 as indicated by my actual speed. But the figures I get rather correspond with the total activity average. Is this something known?
The runs I did was with very significant pace variations per lap, so the average was way off to what was correct. Just to be sure, I also checked in the Suunto App that I selected the correct data field ‘average pace per lap’
