HOW TO DISABLE OPTICAL HR MONITOR?
-
Hi
i am positively fed up with the optical HR :impossible to get a vaguely correct measurement .I see lots of users complain
How can I deactivate the optical sensor?
BTW :an annoying childish feature to get rid of : "HOW GOOD WAS IT ".I never respond -
@pierre-carneau you can disable both feedback and HR in the exercise menu. When you see “start” after you select a sport mode, scroll down.
Also, more relaxed language is appreciated.

@isazi
many thanks for your response and advice : I had not seen that option before
I do take on board your comment about the necessity of a "more relaxed language "
I did not think “fed up” was particularly offensive ,but if you feel it was ,then i am willing to withdraw it -
@pierre-carneau I think he was referring to also the “annoying childish feature” comment. recording a qualitative assessment of how your training went is a pretty well established and regarded tool to augment one’s quantitative side of training. Strava has the same thing as do other legitimate platforms designed not for children but instead for adults and serious athletes. It might not be a feature you use or would use and would prefer you didn’t see it but it isn’t really marketed towards children.

@pierre-carneau How good was it is an excellent gauge of RPE if you use it correctly. Some coaches believe RPE is a better gauge of effort than HR. So, I disagree it is “childish”.
