Suunto's newest watch is the 5 Peak
-
@mountainchris fair enough. I have nothing against it, just discussing I will never buy it as I’m in the mountains and woods 90% of my trainings.
-
@wmichi or user based recovery (depending on fitness, training, sleep) or stamina
-
@wmichi said in Suunto's newest watch is the 5 Peak:
Maybe there‘s not only the adaptive training plan on the watch, …
Which I miss on the S9P
-
@markytarky me also. Using S9. But I often run also long and flat. A light second watch would be cool for this, or for daily things, where you do not need baro… Is SA full capable to use more Suuntos or do you need to disconnect an reconnect?
-
@mountainchris As far as I know, SA supports multiple devices. But you have to manually select the currently used/active device in SA. The downside is, data is not synchronized two way. If you do a workout using watch 1, you won‘t see it on watch 2. Also the statistics (weekly training hours) are not updated on watch 2.
-
Let’s see what happens in 40 minutes.
-
@freeheeler I’m doing without baro just fine, small hills are a pain though. I wonder, if 5p has compass, since the original 5 didn’t.
Next up, s3p and s7p? Maybe s9XL? -
@dmytro next could be maybe S9XL because S3 and S7 are newer than S9B
-
BTW I will be able to answer some questions IF Suunto announces something later.
-
@dmytro
only because a baro is mandatory for me I know that there are use cases where a baro is not required no worries, mate
S3P, maybe… S7P, I don’t think so. S9P XL yessss please!!!
…but I leave this thread now to the original topic S5P and stop talking about my desires -
S5P for all day and light sports usage, S9B for the real stuff. That would be my usecase.
-
@wmichi let’s wait for the official release and description. And of course for the FW update which is behind the door.
-
@freeheeler well I don’t think so, you have an AML sensor on Peak, you have sapphire glass, you have titanium, you have a touch screen with better resolution, you have a blood O2 sensor, etc. So no, I guess notl
-
It is official! https://www.suunto.com/fy-nl/suunto-collections/suunto-5-peak/
-
@isazi yeah just opened the page
-
No adaptive training, at least not in highlights.
-
Suutno 5 peak looks nice, pretty much like S9P, but if I were to choose a design, I’ll choose Ambit3 vertical design (with its monochrome screen ofc) but has function like Suunto 9 (WHR, ABC, BT LE, etc).
For me monochrome display has its perks, looks like basic sportswatch with some smart capability, and low profile too. -
@isazi soo, what are the new firmware features included in the watch? Or are there none at the moment.
-
It’s priced better (cheaper) than the original S5 on launch. But is there anything significantly better or new apart from quick-release and new HR sensor?
-
@dulko79 it is there, like on Suunto 5.
