Hi! 2 problems while recording a swimming pool exercise.

1- If I start swimming Front Crawl or Breaststroke or Butterfly and then switch to Backstroke in the same recording, the S9 blanks and then quit recording. The exercice is regitered with almost no data. Swtching between front styles seems to be Ok.

2 - The Chest HR sensor does not record data while swimming, or something goes wrong and the data is not shown on the record. Tryed wrist HR, and 2 other chest straps, from another brand and suunto.

@tiagospm 1. No idea. I would tend to think this must be coincidence and not related to swimming style… Can you reproduce it?

        1. This can only work with the Suunto Smart sensor. Make sure to start up the connection out of the water so the belt knows when it should start recording. BT signals don’t transmit under water so all HR data needs to be cached in the sensor and then transmitted afterwards. Make sure you are out of the water when pressing “end” as well.

ad 1. WOW, this is really strange. I am changing swimming styles very often during my swim trainings and never experienced such problem…yet. Anyway, are you using default swim sport mode or customized one? If customized, then try to delete it and recreate again. Soft reset could help as well. In case taht you are usgin default swim sport mode, then I have no idea, try soft reset or maybe even hard reset. If none of this helps, than I would get it to Suunto repair service. It could be problem with gyroscop sensor(?)

ad 2. @Egika explained it very pricesely and that is exactly how you have to proceed, when you want to have HR data from chest strap recorded while swimming. Please remember, what Egika said - this is applicable only with Suunto Smart sensor. No any other chest strap will work. OHR on the watch work as well, but data from it are very unreliable while swimming.
