0 awake time in sleep data
-
I am using Spartan Sport WHR Baro but I have found that there is 0 awake time in my daily sleep data since I bought and activate it few years ago.
I am certainly sure that I do wake up during the night at least once to go to rest room but it doesn’t log it.
I also raised this issue years ago and haven’t heard anything, coz the issue is still remain unfixed.

@jom1104 I agree this is a problem. Last night I woke up after about 5 hrs sleep, did some things and went back to sleep. Suunto logged that as a 5 hour night. Fitbit (which I wear on the other wrist) accurately logged a long 8 hrs of sleep.

@poorpossum Not sure if this is an algorithm, gyro sensor or accelerometer issue (or three)?
I do have a Fitbit tracker on the other wrist and not sure which one is more accurate. What I found in average is if sleep time subtract “awake time” usually in line with what Fitbit is showing.

@poorpossum I had the same issue but then I changed my regular sleeping times. So before I usually got up at around 6am (sleeping time acc to setting until 6am) and whenever I went back to bed it did not log the sleep any more. After changing the setting to 10pm-7:30am it logs the sleeping time pretty accurate.

@patrick-rx Damn! I can’t get up earlier? Hahaha. Sounds like an algorithm issue.
I found another issue. I usually wake up at 6:10. First thing I do is to sync my Suunto to see my sleep data. Sometimes, it lets me to sync immediately but sometimes it will not sync 30mins later. Then my sleep time adds another 30mins.

@jom1104 read my comment again and have to mention that I just changed the regular sleeping times set on the watch hahaha but yeah sounds like an algorithm issue

@patrick-rx Thanks for the reminder. I set my sleep time in watch from 21:30~06:00 before. I’ll change my setting and comment later.
Let’s see when this subject can get Suunto’s attention.

In general, I still have not seen any improvement in terms of awake time. I also observed a very strange behavior from the watch algorithm.
I woke up around mid-night last night to go to rest room and woke up this morning to sync my watch. There were 15 steps logged by the watch at mid-night and the algorithm stopped logging my sleep. As a result in the morning, I only see 1:48h sleep time.
I do not know how the steps are recognized and logged by the algorithm. I always wake up for restroom with same route from bedroom. Sometimes, it logged with steps (then watch stopped tracking/logging sleep data), sometimes it doesn’t (I have a full 8hrs sleep data logged). I don’t know why the sleep time is affected by the steps in this case.
