Manual Firmware Update
-
@cosmecosta Is there a repository of the various firmware? I have a S9 Baro. I guess it’s already useless to me but it would be nice to have it working for a 4 day alpine trip I leave for tomorrow. I mean, that’s why I bought the watch!

@andré-faria Is there a repository of the various firmware. I want to ensure I use the S9 Baro one. I’ve downloaded these two but have no idea which watch they are intended to be installed on.

https://firmware.geo.movescount.com/production/Lima-fw_2.16.26.4053-F.zipAs it stands now, I’ll need to send my watch in but it would be nice to have an operable one for tomorrow when I leave on an alpine trip.

@andré-faria Thanks to everyone for the comments. It appears I have a brick with a wristband; it’s my third one. Suunto seems to have a systemic problem with their initial code if multiple watches in different models all do the same thing. After a number of years I would have assumed these known issues would have been corrected. My latest firmware crash happened when the watch was being a watch - not even being worn.
In any case, I have tried the ibiza 2.14 and 2.16 firmware releases and neither will install manually. I will be sending the watch in, unfortunately. I do hope there isn’t a charge for service for a known firmware issue but I guess I’ll find out.

@andré-faria correct.
@tomas5 The Suunto’s all have city’s names internally in development.
‘Amsterdam’: ‘Suunto Spartan Ultra’,
‘Brighton’: ‘Suunto Spartan Sport’,
‘Cairo’: ‘Suunto Spartan WHR’,
‘Forssa’: ‘Suunto Spartan Trainer’,
‘Gdansk’: ‘Suunto Spartan WHR Baro’, ‘Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro’, ‘Suunto Spartan WHR Baro’,
‘Helsinki’: ‘Suunto 3 Fitness’,
‘Ibiza’: Suunto 9 Baro
‘Lima’: Suunto 9
‘Monza’: Suunto 5For Suunto5 you get the 2.10.26 FW like this:
http://firmware.geo.movescount.com/production/Monza-fw_2.10.26.1047-J.zipand the 2.12.30 version:

@surfboomerang I wasn’t expecting Gdańsk 0_o. I wonder how the names are chosen, random or by some key
-
If you do hard reset of watch, can be done directly from suunto link, it will download and re-flash correct latest firmware for your device. No need to download it manually.

@łukasz-szmigiel The interesting thing ist, that watches D, E and J, K were never released.
Wonder what they hwould have looked like? -
@egika maybe just didn’t find city with that letter on map in allocated time frame
-
@egika scrapped? Or waiting still?
