      Good afternoon! Is there a way to stop the clock while doing interval training without having to manually pause the exercise? I’ve been using my Suunto 9 side by side with the Forerunner 945. The 945 automatically stops the clock during recovery, but the 9 continues. I feel like I’m doing something wrong with my 9. Thanks

        @tyresej4 sure, just as in a regular training you can either use a manual pause via the upper button or an autopause based on you not moving.
        Recovery phase is meant to be tracked as well, don’t know why Garmins do this differently.

          @дима-мельниченко Thanks! I’ll try auto pause tomorrow.

            @дима-мельниченко Garmin does definitely track recovery too, just shows it with a different (dark by default) background.

              @isazi but the OP mentioned the watch stopping an exercise whilst in recovery phase, right?

                @tyresej4

                Is the recovery part not running ? That’s why you need to pause ?

                Or is it for not skewing the pace ?

                I am only asking because in principal you need to record the recovery. It’s the most important part actually.

                  @dimitrios-kanellopoulos Yeah I was trying to make it so the pace isn’t skewed. But, if the recovery portion is supposed to be recorded than I’ll keep it. Thanks!

                    @tyresej4 Haha - this reminds me of Wahoo head units not counting “zeros” in their calculation of “average power” for rides. Nice way to stoke the ego…

                    Just kidding - I agree with the others - the recovery portions should be counted as well. Are you actually stopping during the recovery? Walking?

                      I decided to write in this thread. I can’t find the intervals in open water mode. Suunto blog recommends using intervals in open water, but there is no such feature in this sport mode. Is this a bug or was this feature removed in the new firmware?

                        @stas-varazhbit i believe that might be due to the fact that in order for intervals to be an option in the drop down menu in activity start you need an interval data page activated and there might not be one in the open water swimming default sport mode. you should create a custom open water swim mode and add one of the interval pages to your view. then try to use that and see if the option is in the drop downs to set your intervals and rests.
