@mountaineerx
Yes
it’s a trick
it’s done thanks
this way i will test the charging effect.
We were waiting for an update where the backlight can be adjusted according to the sunrise and sunset, but it did not come.
maybe it was my thoughtBut it did come………with a hardware change. The Peak has an ambient light sensor and will adjust the backlight based on the ambient light. An example of Suunto satisfying customer requests. May not have been delivered the way you expected, though.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos i hoped there will be still posibility to toggle by upper left button as stated in user manual. It was convinient to enable backlight as needed justby long press of button.
-
Love the raise to wake feature…especially during workouts.
-
@brad_olwin
I guess suunto 9 baro does not have this hardware.
so it can already use automatic incoming Sunrise and sunset alarms. The backlight turns on at sunset, turns off at sunrise. in low mode. Just an idea -

Great idea but has one crucial problem: the light is often pretty dim indoors or on the trail during a day too. In fact, I personally find myself more often at need of backlight during a day than at night. So, Suunto’s implementation is understandable.
In the ideal world we could have both options, and maybe a control for how bright our backlight should be.

@aleksander-h Man, I hope that snap to route makes its way to the S7. The horrible tracks I get are about the only thing that keeps me from using my S7 more.
-
@randy-penn
do you use 1s or 10s GPS refreshing? -
@randy-penn hmm. I’ve had no such issue with my S7. Mine pretty much matches my wife’s Fenix 5
-
@freeheeler I’ve tried both, and on multiple S7s. My walking and hiking tracks are always garbage.
-
@aleksander-h I’ve worn my S7 right next to a Fenix 6x, and the S7 track is always trash compared to the Fenix. I enjoy the smartwatch features enough that the S7 still makes it into the rotation from time to time.

@surfboomerang And I especially went home for cable

Guys, why make changes to the lighting function that worked fine as it is? I broke my brain.Why not just make the lighting with the push of a one button?
As I understand it, Suunto will not make changes to the sport modes, but only add smart functions. This is very disappointing. -
@stas-varazhbit I think it is a kind of philosophy to read your watch without any intervention (no action to screen and buttons needed).
I personally like that much and this is for me very future… -
@mountainchris Suunto should have left it up to choose how to turn on the screen light. “Touching with two fingers” was not very comfortable, but acceptable.
-
@stas-varazhbit what is the problem can you explain a little more ? Good morning ️

i don’t have S9, but my Spartan work like this :
1- Backlight = automode
2- No standy backlightWith this : the watch screen goes locked and dimmed in one minute or so. It stay like this all time i don’t interact with it.
When external light is OK, i can read watch clearly, if not enough light or at night, i just have to press middle button once, and watch light up with my %light preset.
That is it = it is almost a light button.Someone else wrote it recently

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Good morning! I apologize for my English, it is not my first language.
There is no problem. I was talking about complicating the screen backlighting function. Why not just give the ability to turn on the screen by pressing one button?
Backlighting is not always needed in the daytime. Turning on the screen backlight every time you press any button will drain the battery quickly.
