TbT with Komoot
-
Hi there!
I finally got to test new tbt feature with my s9.
It works quite well, however in a city notifications get a little bit confusing as turns are announced so often.
I have a suggestion of a solution: there’s plenty of free real estate while displaying waypoints - it would be amazing to have street names to help orient by looking at street signs.
I think it’s a little less helpful for quicker sports such as running and cycling - just do the street names with small font. It won’t take much place and won’t be visible at high speeds, thus not distracting a user.
Thanks! -
@дима-мельниченко the most effective is to use komoot app directly. It works very well.
For the S9 it’ll be great to have a split screen with the GPS track up and down the arrow who indicate TBT like this it should be less confusing.

@g287-sf it’s quite a bit on smartphone battery. If the hike is long I wouldn’t risk it since in case of emergency I would need to make a phone call.

@дима-мельниченко personnaly i subscribe premium and i can use it off line. It doesn’t drain the batterie to much. You should make a test.
If i remember last time i start with 70% and finish at 35%, it was turning non stop with screen on during 2hours (55km) luminosity full + non stop music. So without music and luminosity a bit lower it shouldn’t be bad.
Maybe you can carry an external battery strap to your bike with velcro. -
@g287-sf I’m hiking so it’s taking anywhere from 4 to 12 hours and it would kill any phone.
I also have regions unlocked, so it’s only GPS drain (there’s oftentimes no reception in the mountains anyway).
I might carry a battery pack, but I prefer to stay as light as possible to move faster and further. -
Even the Samsung Galaxy watch 3 have a better integration. I wish an update come for us…
