Multisport mode

@TELE-HO I know, this I wrote. But it is not so much comfortable during race. It is better solution use my five years old Ambit2, where I have all configured as I need and I can change sports with one druck.

@TELE-HO start your hike, long hold upper button , select cycling done. No need Todo anything more
The pity here is that, in Android, the activities of the multisport are shown in SA as an activity without all the metrics of each type of sport. Is an activity with quite poor information, I think in iOS all the metrics are there. On the other hand when the multisport is uploaded to Strava you will have as activities as sports used and with all the metrics.

@cosmecosta please keep the scope. I don’t want to lock this thread. There is a request for that
-
@mcindr you can customize your modes with only distance for for swimming switch between them during multisport switch. It’s actually quite faster and more robust.
While you might have an opinion this request (which we don’t support watch requests here ) has 8 votes only.
Others have hundreds.
The multisoort is an improvement over the old ones however that does not mean that is is for you.
That doesn’t mean you get less quality. It’s a different aspect.
And no there is not linear added update. The spartans and after is anew system. Not at all the same.
That is why it’s not called ambit 3 or 4
-
I think multisport is quite easy to use in Spartans and S watches. I used it quite a lot during Covid lock down time and I liked how it was implemented. If I recall well when you change between sports you will find first the last sports used as when you choose an activity.
-
@cosmecosta correct. If you have a race coming you can with 3 button clicks switch over (I think 3 maybe 4 max). You can also just on the fly without the need of customization just use the multisport feature. With ambits you could not if I recall corrct. You had to configure it and spend quite some time. Now you only need to configure the sport modes if that is needed.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos OK, thank you for your informations. I’ll give chance this manually changing again and try it during next race. I hope I will find any solution for measuring transitions time with this. It was this details and simplycity which made Suunto the top for me long time. This missing me today.
-
@mcindr the transitions are missing. That is a bad thing. And triathlon customization is only via mc.
That yes. Is a request. But perhaps the best is to be specific about it. Just for example asking for multisport customization without just saying why and what is missing can be hidden under the table if people don’t see that.
I know understand what you mean. Sorry for being so persistent. I thought it was just about the sport modes.
-
@mcindr actually I am a moron. That was the initial request. Apologies. Let me move this back.

Kudos for @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Keep it up!

Should be this one … vote , vote, vote !!
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/2316/multi-sport-details-split-by-sport-as-mc -
I’ve just voted for this; its something I use a couple of times a (non-pandemic!) year - its not a ‘deal breaker’, but it is pretty important to me. To be honest though I’ve largely given up upvoting features on here since it very much feels like Suunto aren’t listening.
We have web version of Suunto App and structured workouts which are the two most upvoted features and have been rejected, whereas ‘sprint mode’ (which some people do find useful) appears to have come from nowhere.
-
@amasidlover we express interest in things, but eventually is Suunto that decides. Also, I assume the forum is only one of the inputs for Suunto, as there are much more Suunto users than users in this forum (e.g. the data that showed only 0.2% of all users used POIs in MC).
-
@mcindr I don’t understand.
You have customzied your sport modes so you have the minimal information you like.
Now you can easily switch over from one mode to the other with a ling button press.
It is much more flexible to use with your settings! Now if you just liked it the way it was, then with new watch models you have to learn the new way to do it.
-
@Egika for triathlon, duathlon, SwimRun is not as fast as it should, specially in short events, in a long even is not important.
In triathlon you can’t customize the sport mode.
There is a solution but is not as convenient as some of us expect.

I disagree.
Just tested:
to change into transition and to the next sport mode in triathlon mode, you need a long button press on the top button followed by a short press.
This is exactly what to do for a multisport event: long press and short press to conform the next sport.
If you have prepared your favorite sport modes in advance, then the last one used will come up directly to be selected. It could not be easier. So I really don’t get, why the pre-configuration should have any advantage here.
For triathlon mode configuration I agree, this should be made available in the app to configure the screens individually.

talking about speed… definitely offtopic but I have to drop this anyway: do you guys also appreciate the waiting time until you can unlock the buttons and stop an activity while the watch tells you that you just arrived at the target, when navigating?! priceless!
…plus: I run into this issue over and over again… it’s like my learning curve is 100% horizontal -
@TELE-HO I thought you could dismiss this message with the middle button?!
What can’t be dismissed is the lap count in alpine skiing. So there definitely is the waiting time before stopping…
Already complained about it a year ago… -
@Egika I little bit disagree with you too
When you use triathlon mode in S9 it is very easy to change sport. After swimming you need only one long press upper button for change to transition. This I can make when I running from water and my watch are under swimsuit, I don’t need looking to screen. When you leaving transition area, you need only one short press upper button to change to bike mode. The same between bike and run.
It is very good, simply and comfortable changing activity. That’s why I wrote here about it. I am disappointed that I can’t use this, while screens in triathlon mode are not suitable to me, I can not customize it.
And my opinion S9 baro is top sport model, not only cheap fitness band. And there are this details important.
You are true it is possible change sport mode manually. But searching right mode is not so quickly and comfortable as switching in triathlon mode. That’s all.

@Egika
…the middle button doesn’t do anything when buttons are locked
