S9 Baro, data missing when pressing button for split time in exercise
-
Hello, until now i was very happy owner of many Suunto watches. I bought S9 baro in may 2020 and until few weeks ago (maybe latest update), i noticed that my data, which was recorded during exercise (hiking), was not completely transfered to Suunto App. To be more precise, HR is missing, elevation gained is false, split times are missing.
I tried soft and hard reset of watch, another installation of Suunto App, but nothing seems to help and it became frustrating. I realize now, that data is fully transfered to Suunto App only when i dont use split times, but that cant be solution. As soon as i use split time in training, data is missing when transfered to App.
Anyone had similar problems? Solutions?

@gregor-kržan
Are you on beta? The HR problems should be solved in an upcoming SA update. Don’t know about elevation and splits. -
@дима-мельниченко
Not on beta but dont think its an issue…

Also have to mention, that data “becomes” missing as soon as the training session is finished, its not saved in watch logbook either (its saved with data missing)…
-
@gregor-kržan So it’s not available on the watch itself either. Well, than as you’ve tried both soft and hard reset, I would contact support.
-
@gregor-kržan also you mention an update. Last firmware update for s9 was due december, so it is probably not it either.

@дима-мельниченко
Yes i think it will be only solution, since its still in warranty …
thanks

@gregor-kržan yes better contact support, I use laps all the time and never had this issue.

Hey to all again. I sent my Suunto 9 baro to registred service since watch is still in warranty. They have checked all issues and didn’t find any problems. So i’ve connected watch with Suunto App on my mobile (Samsung A51), i made custom sport mode for hiking and during execise, watch correctly measured all that i have chosen (duration, distance, speed, avg. speed, pace, altitude, ascent, descent, HR, avg. HR, calories …).
But when i finished training, same problem again. Watch only saved distance correctly, evertything else is missing or has invalid values (highest point was 730 m in real, in Suunto App is only 73 m; ascent and descent are 0, in real there was 800+/-, HR data in missing completely, and split times or laps arent there…).
Its really frustrating now, really dont know if its problem with app since i made custom sport mode, or maybe with mobile (Samsung A51). If anyone has suggestions i would appreciate your help. Once again - watch was checked by registered service, where they didnt find any problems.

@gregor-kržan can you check if in the watch logbook all values are correct? If the watch is correct and the app wrong, we know that the problem is in the app.
-
@gregor-kržan did you check same stats in other sports modes? Try hiking, walking, running,etc. Maybe also try indoor sports to see if HR values are being recorded. This may help narrow down the issue.
Also, do you use other services except for SA? Assuming the fault is on the SA’s side, you should still be able to view the data on those platforms. -
Yesterday I had short cycling training, using custom sport mode also and HR values were correct. Only difference today/yesterday is that i’ve changed HR values manually.
More to add, values in Strava and Relive, which are connected with Suunto App show correct values!
And first question … in logbook there is only duration, distance and avg. speed.

Also if you press the button to enter the activity details? No graphs?
-
No graphs, only duration (total, with pauses included), total distance and average speed (based on total time (training + pauses)
-
@gregor-kržan did you install a new firmware recently?
-
When discovered the problem i reinstalled Suunto App, Suunto Link has latest update.
-
@gregor-kržan unfortunately if the data is not in the watch anymore there is no way (that I know) of getting it into the app.
-
Ok, i realise that, but why Strava shows all data then, and Strava is connected with Suunto App, which shows invalid data or no data at all?
-
@gregor-kržan yeah that is strange. What if you record a few minutes test activity now?
-
@gregor-kržan to me it seems like firmware update might have been installed with a bug or something. There is a new one around the corner, maybe you wait and see if this will solve your issue. Otherwise I’d try contacting support again, now providing them pictures and stuff, so they can’t say it’s all good XD
