Out front bike mount
-
I was wondering weather anyone knew if Suunto is working on an out-front bike mount adapter - something along the line of what Garmin offers for their Fenix watches.
I use my Spartan Wrist HR Baro for a bunch of different sports - including road cycling.
In my eyes the standard Suunto bike mount is fairly inconvenient as it is very bulky and off to the side (apart from the fact that it simply looks hideous…) so I’d rather have a mount for out front like your olde dedicated bike computer.
As I use the watch for a series of activities I am not interested in buying a dedicated head unit from another brand just for this and ending up having to run a multitude of apps and everything.Of course the perfect solution would be a separate screen-unit that mounts on the bike and connects and mirrors directly to the watch. this might be especially interesting for triathletes - but unfortunately I do not assume something like this to be in the planning soon.
However a bike mount - like the mentioned mounts for Garmin’s Fenix watches - would be a fairly easy fix.Apart from “is Suunto working on this” I was also wondering, weather maybe anyone has successfully DIY-ed a functioning out-front mount themselves? If so: how’d you do it?
Cheers

@andré-faria
Thanks mate.
It’s still very bulky though - but still e heap better than Suunto’s own holder -
DIY
In my case Mounting point was easy - as my stem got plastic GoPro mount (thanks Bontrager )
Arms - I have reused Alu-plate scrap that was laying around
First body prototype - used from Medicine container + 2 Alu plate caps i made & glued. - I wasn’t very happy with shape and how bulky was.
Second body - I used plastic holder from my Swatch (as recently dropped by to store for battery replacement - and came out they wanted to give me new box - so i asked to keep old broken one). I used blow torch to bend a bit and reshape it to final form.
Filled with foam to keep it a bit more secure, glued arms - and used electric tape.
I am very happy with final results.
