Update of S9 baro
It’s first time i use a Suunto watch with updates and i’m asking myself. For how many years did they offer support ? And how often did they deploy new firmware or correction ?
Anyone have an idea for a future realese date ?

@g287-sf usually they to update every 3 months. The first quarter: new features and the other quarter: small updates and bug fixes. As for the support, it is hard to tell. They still support the old Ambit family, Traverse family, so I wouldn’t be worried if you have S9. You can count for support for many years. Especially they are widely using the current firmware platform. BTW. the latest FW release was before Christmas (for bug fixes), so something should come around March or April. Or a new watch?
@g287-sf you can check fw release dates for yourself on suunto’s website. I think Spartans were updated about 2.5 years or so. Ambit 3 Peak too. There isn’t an official statement, on how long they update the watches, but 2-3 years is to expect, I guess. Also after releasing suunto plus I would suspect that when new watches come out, they would share suunto plus functionality and maybe s5,9 will still get new suunto plus apps alongside them.
FW is nice and all, but I think everything works good now, doesn’t it? Apart from few small things you can see in the forum, there is not much else to add.
Just remind to make difference between FW update (for feature addition/bug fixes) and support (warranty or not). Spartan line has not got any new FW feature update since a long time, but a date bug last year new year has been corrected quickly. But still no new update.
S series, no one knows how it will be.
