Spartan compatible with polar h10 hr sensor
-
Hi all,
Can anyone confirm if the polar H10 sensor is compatible with the Suunto Spartan watches?
Ive had two Suunto belts and neither lasted longer than 6 months, the H10 gets good reviews and I have seen an odd comment saying it is compatible but before spending the money Id like to know if anyone here can confirm this.
Cheers -
@paddlingnorm Hello,
I can confirm this, works great!
-
@paddlingnorm Polar H10 and Polar OH1 are working fine here with the Spartan Ultra.
-
@johann-fuehrer Fantastic, thank you

Is Polar H10 compatible with Spartan watch regarding swimming option. Can it transfer data after swimming into the watch?
-
@bbx100 no, only the Suunto sensor can. I wish there was a supported standard for this but apparently there is not.
-
@isazi Thx for info, I presumed it so too

For running the H10 works great with my SSWHRBaro and is much much frugal on batteries than the Suunto smart sensor.

My Suunto Sensor batteries last almost 300h each (with on record around 400h) Which is for me roughly one year.
Do you mean that H10 batteries last much much longer ? -
@Mff73 I’m using mine now nearly two (2!) years with the same battery, which is somewhere in the range of >400 hours and the battery seems to be still quite good. But it depends also highly on the ambient temperature and how cold the battery gets during workouts.
-
@paddlingnorm Yes it works perfectly. I had the same problems with the Suunto belt and never regrets buying the Polar HR10.
-
@Mff73 Well, that’s not bad, but quite different from my mileage. In my case batteries used to last between 3-4 months (running about 3 times a week with sessions lasting 1 - 1:30hr). I always made sure that after exercise the sensor was removed from the band and the contacts were dried.
The H10 was more in the range of 8-9 months. That’s a rough estimation. But the truth is that I really could feel that it drained much less battery.
The readings of both Suunto and H10 were fine (the H10 had less spurious HR spikes, but more or less the same overall reading quality).
-
@paddlingnorm yup… I had similar problems with the Suunto belt, switched to the Polar H10 and it’s been perfect for nearly 2 years now.
Just started to play up a little, but sadly that’s my lack of care with regard to cleaning the belt, you really do need to give it a clean with a mild soap at least every couple runs, when I’ve run hard its easy to not bother, well it is for me.

@paddlingnorm You were lucky with your Suunto belts, mine malfunctioned after less than two months!

Hi, Is there a list of compatible Hear Rate belts with Suunto watches and the App? I have a baro but it seems the suunto HRM is out of production…would the garmin dual be compatible?
cheers -
@chaichaichai
